Update for the group. Ordered 5/31, Scheduled July 8, Just got E-Mail today status change to In Production, but Estimated Delivery Date October 20, 2024...

They clearly don’t want to disappoint on delivery or “in production” means they printed the parts list. . But Congrats. Think I am unrealistic to hope for a September delivery.

Speaking of delivery, can my dealer arrange for me to pick up in Detroit? Good time of the year to drive to the Upper Peninsula, catch a Packer game, maybe shoot a grouse, and play a round of golf in Hudson Wisconsin.

I'd say it's definitely unrealistic for you to get in September. In fact, I don't think I'll get before October. You're probably October - January.

I don't know. My dealership texted me 08/06 saying it was at pint already. Ram tracker updated to in production on 08/08 (but listed it starting at 08/05). Dealership texted me 08/09 that is was JS in storage and should be done. Today 08/10 I just got the email and text from ram that the truck just now started production.

Bottom line. Check with the dealership. Ram knows their system sucks big ol..... B's and always tell you dealership will know the most. Coming to really and truly belive that statement.

I worked in a custom job shop and it can be a **** show. Ram is not a custom job shop. They have a limited number of products. I'd love to know why this is happening. I know that the union will make things more difficult, but no clue as to the root causes.

Mine is in a similar spot. In production since Aug 5 but estimated delivery is not until Oct 23.

Wonder if it could be waiting on certain parts? Something they can mfg the truck but not finish it? Like a screen or special part or something? I have no knowledge of anything like this but it would make sense. That’s assuming the Oct delivery dates are accurate.

Asked my Dealer about status right now. He said build is complete and it’s in inspection right now. Estimated ship date is still Oct 23 so he suspects it goes into storage for a while. Says he sees a lot of them like that. Must be holding onto them so that if any problems arise, they can fix before sending out.

What a special business model this is. I wish most of us had a clue about this joke earlier this year. As much as I think the Ram is better than options, I'm sure I would've gone a different route. I will be lucky to see my truck before Christmas. After they announce the 2026 models.

This doesnt honestly feel much different than the original DT launch in 2018...I ordered my limited right around the time ordering opening up and 5 months later they still hadn't even scheduled the build..ended up buying one off the lot. Probably should have learned my lesson then but I'm back lol. The truck I ordered back then was built 2 months after I bought off the lot

Only thing I can think of is that they needed to sequence other trucks in front of mine and now mine is not scheduled anymore. Might be because they're having assembly issues with the Tungstens that are currently being built and they're unsure how quickly they can resolve those issues. But who knows.

My dealer has been good, so I have a small glimmer of hope that I might know what's going on tomorrow.

I guess they want to be extra triple positively sure that there isn’t anything wrong with the truck before it is sent out?
Maybe there are software/firmware issues with components that don’t have a fix yet?
Maybe there are random parts that can be bolted on but aren’t in stock yet?
At this point, my dealer doesn’t know and it seems that no one else does either. At least not anyone willing to say what’s going on specifically.

I consider myself EXTREMELY lucky that I came into this order game late and didn’t have to wait close to a year to get to this point. I’d love to have my truck in a few weeks from now but I am able to wait until October. I’m sure it will be worth the wait.

I was all proud of myself for being patient, but 16 weeks and back into D... I'm not so proud anymore Hopefully you get yours before you get to the spot I'm at - irritated to the point that I want to cancel my order (but won't, of course) due to horrible customer service and what feels like bait and switch (related to lead times).
