It's only been a few months on the new tires but I like math so yeah, let's run the numbers and see where things are at.
- Goodyear Eagle Touring, 285/45R22 23,389 miles travelled, averaged 15.35MPG
- BFG Advantage TA's, 285/45R22, 34,028 miles travelled, averaged 15.56MPG
- Michelin Defender LTX, 305/45R22, 4840 miles travelled, averaged 14.71MPG

The Eagles were burned off pretty quick doing mostly close to home travel. I put the BFG's on right before I started my current project so the BFG's and Michelin will see near identical usage and treatment. Funny to see a 0.85 mpg difference between the tires on the exact same commute. I compared averages from last year during the same dates and the BFG's were fairly consistent at 15.63 so there's definately a difference and the BFG's seem to get almost 1mpg better mileage. I still prefer the traction and ride of the Michelin's though so I wouldn't go back for 1 mpg.
Did you calculate in the 2.2% difference in increased diameter for the 305/45 Defenders?
If not then it would be closer to 15 mpg. The Defenders are smooth running tires for sure.

Thanks for the info. I still have time and tread to burn with the Eagles so I still have time to research. :)

No, I used AlfaOBD to recalibrate my speedometer so the mileage should be spot on.
If anything, the calibration was off slightly from the factory on my first two sets of tires which would increase their mileage numbers ever so slightly.

I have a '19 Limited and having the
285/55/22 Terra Grappler G2 put on later this afternoon. I went with that tire over the Ridge Grappler just because it's a tad shorter and about .25" narrower according to Nittos specs. I also heard it would be a quieter tire at highway speed.
How are your tires ? Are they good in wet conditions ? Snow ?

Heard a few people are running 35 X 12.5 X 22 on stock limited wheels with stock Air Suspension. They claim no rubbing. Anyone verify this? I run 305/45/22 and had to trim a little of the wheel well to allow full turn in normal mode. I would like ot run the 35's but its a big dollar gamble if they don't work out.

Lots of people run 35x12.50x22 on leveled limiteds. YouTube has a bunch of videos. They rub in the same exact spot as 285/55/22 or 305/50/22 etc.. drill a small hole and zip tie fender liner back a little and they are good to go. My 2022 just came in and I have a set of 35x12.50x22 nitto ridge grapplers in the garage that are getting installed tomorrow afternoon. I’ll post how bad it runs after I get home. My
Truck is a 2022 limited with just revel links. Set between OR1 and OR2 ish.

So far I have 650 miles on my truck and about 100 with the links on. I love it. I don’t notice any difference in ride and the truck looks great.

Sorry, I know it’s been awhile since this post but I noticed your signature & wanted to ask - do you have any photos or your painted hood vents? I’ve been thinking of painting mine to match the black on the grille. Should look better I would think & easier to wash/wax.

Exactly, I went with the Toyo's OC ATIII 305/45 r 22 mostly to get more sidewall and the bulge has protected my Rims on a few occasions where a tight parking lot or drive thru would have ended in curb rash on the rims before.
How are you getting more sidewall while still choosing the “45”

Usually when you go 305 or more it still slightly changes the sidewall. All manufacturers are a little different but if you play around on the tiresize.com calculator, you’ll see what I mean.
