No lift/level yet, I have 5100's on order.

Rubs of course near full lock, but I bet you could run these with no level as long as your willing to bend some plastic, which ill be doing in the next couple days

I need to move over to the toyo's - these ridge grapplers are ridiculous; noisy and vibration at 65-75.
Won't do anything about the noise, but have you had them road force balanced? Had that same vibe issue with the Toyo's until I had it done and now it's smooth at all speeds again. Discount Tire runs a little over $100 to do a set of four, at least in Orlando.

The tires came in early so I got them installed today.

These are the Michelin Defender LTX in 305/45/22’s.

The ride home was smooth and quiet and even my wife noticed a significant difference as a passenger. I slipped the tires once intentionally compared to 2-3 times that the old tires would have slipped unintentionally. There was some minimal rubbing at full turn, (in Aero mode), but once I was out of the tight parking lot, it never happened again. I'll look it into more once it stops raining.

Probably a stupid question, but why didn't you just get the defenders in the stock size determined by manufacturer to be best for the vehicle? I'm trying to decide if it's worth going slightly bigger for just the look...doesn't seem like there's any other benefit and I definitely don't want to worry about rub. What was the difference your wife noticed? Ride quality, noise, both?

I also switched to the 305/45-22 Michelins. I did it mainly for the looks. However, since there is more sidewall, I do think they ride a little better than stock size, especially on rough roads. There is minor rubbing, but only in reverse in full lock so far. No problem for me.

More sidewall means a smoother ride and the bulge helps protect the rim from curb rash. I’ve also learned that when a tire doesn’t last it’s intended mileage, bump up in size until they do.

Case in point, when Ram trucks with the V10’s came out with 245’s, you couldn’t help but spin the tires at every stop and they wouldn’t last more than 8k kms a set. I bumped up to 295’s and got 105k kms out of a set of BFG AT’s.

On the Rams with the Hemi and 392 gears, my tires spin a lot and I go through a set every 25- 30k miles. I’m banking that going to a wider tire will provide more grip and longer lasting tread.

I had some minor rubbing when turning the wheel but as another member mentioned, it’s the inner wheel well liner and easy to resolve.

I drilled a single hole and used a zip tie to pull the plastic back on each side.

Exactly, I went with the Toyo's OC ATIII 305/45 r 22 mostly to get more sidewall and the bulge has protected my Rims on a few occasions where a tight parking lot or drive thru would have ended in curb rash on the rims before.

My local car wash is a perfect example of crap we can’t avoid. They have a straight lane that is closed off 90% of the time forcing everyone to navigate a tight S curve. I nail it about 80% of the time but those other 20% I either rub the front or the back.

I have been driving around in the snow past couple days here in the PNW with these. They work really well. These tires are Tri Peak rated. Like most tires, Ice is still ice.

I ended up buying a used 2019 Laramie with the black appearance package. Tires didn't pass certification so after talking with the dealer I tired going with Toyo At3s but they couldn't get them from any vendors and aren't allowed to purchase elsewhere I guess. I ended up having them order Hankook Dynapro AT2's in 305/45R22. Should be come in in a few days and I will pickup next week. Thanks to all for the help!

I put Toyo at3 305/45r22 on my Ram (Big Horn, found some Laramie rims selling locally). I don’t have any air suspension. No lifts or spacers. I get NO rub whatsoever. Discount tire had a pair in stock in California that they transferred to the store local to me.

Loving them already. Obviously a much more athletic feel over the stock junk tires. It feels much more planted and solid now. I wish I would have went with a taller sidewalk but overall I’m happy. Little to no road noise, only lost about 1 mpg. (Speedo isn’t calibrated however). After mounting these, I think my itch to get some spacers to make the wheels stick out a little more is relieved since these stick out a little more due to the width, I will probably grab some motofab pucks next week to level the rake out some however. 15B29CEA-BF6A-49F8-B9F8-9078A791DF9F.jpeg D8B640F2-6C04-47FE-AAF1-2A87E811EF80.jpeg 17A4848B-1FE3-4A44-BCF0-757102B3B65B.jpeg 649DF1A0-B22F-4976-A605-559DB519A031.jpeg

Picture was taken in OR1. No lift, spacers or links installed - all factory original. I’ve been contemplating the BDS 4” which retains factory air settings, but so far very happy with the 305/45/22’s on factory ride height so may keep as is.
Where did you buy the tires?
