Tire Options for 22' Limited Wheels with No Lift/Level

Great looking rig man!

Trying to ask everyone I see with these tires (as in, 285/55r22, which are LT's), how is the ride vs a non-LT tire? Does the extra sidewall make up for stiffer construction?
the ride is better than before, increased sidewall even with an E rated tire made the ride great.
 
Anyone know what time of year Mopar does their buy 3, get 1 free tire sale? Or just random?
 
Did you paint your wheels? I've got the exact same 22s but with the light grey on the inserts....I love the way yours looks

Nope! I believe they changed the night edition Laramie wheels to all black instead of black with light gray lining on the 2020 model
 
After lots of reading in these forums and test drive reviews on Tire Rack, I decided to go with 285/45 R22 Continental Terrain Contact A/T tires. The ride is great - very quiet, not harsh. And its the look I was going for. Even though it's the same size tire as the OEM Goodyear, they don't look as small. Photos were taken at normal ride height. I do get a bit of rub when turned full lock oddly enough. Probably due to the tire shape being more squared off than the Goodyear tires.

That’s probably the best looking OEM size tire I’ve seen on these trucks👍 Have me considering sticking with the the same size when these GYs wear out.

There are some other threads that have photos with these tires in the stock size. I felt the same way when I saw them and that's what helped make my decision.
 
I am running 305/45r22 Toyo AT3 on 3.21 Big Horn, no issues whatsoever. Still mashes when I stomp the gas!View attachment 119823

Got a Bighorn ORG with 18's, was about to go 20's, but 4 Wheel Parts just called and the 22's I ordered in May 2021 finally arrived from somewhere off the port of LA. Had canceled them because of the wait time, but they actually shipped them still.
Was gonna wrap them in 33x12.5R22 AT III's, but the look of those 305's is it! Thank you!
 
Try a 285/55r22 ridge grappler. I just put em on with adjustable front links and front Daystar spacers, you'll have zero rub even in aero. Without the level, you may have to do some light modification.

How have the daystar spacers and links held up? Any issues?
 
With the Rough Country and Daystar did you keep all 5 modes? Just curious because you are the first I have seen do this.
Yes. I did it because others on this site did it.
 
No issues running that size on the stock limited rims, I’m guessing?

Happy with ride quality, noise, etc? I think this settles it for me that I want these lol

No issues on the stock wheels! I had a pretty good wheel and tire shop put these on and they didn’t have anything negative to say with reference to putting them on a 9inch wheel. I’ve seen a lot of trucks on here with them. I wanted a little more sidewall and tread than the stock as I’ll be in Colorado and will need them in the winter. Also wanted to protect my stock wheels a bit better and the additional sidewall does that.

Ride comfort is the same, if not a little better. Truck feels more planted and just a tad heavier. Very little to no noise I just drove it home from the tire shop so I’ll have to provide another update after I drive to Colorado (approx 1400 miles)

Yeah, the 9in rim was my only concern, but have certainly seen people here run them and even the discount tire website shows them okay for a 9in.

Think I’ll be pulling the trigger soon while the Mopar buy 3 get 1 deal is going on! Thanks for the review.

305/45R22 Nitto NT420V on my OEM wheels. Rear leveled down 2". Ride is great, look is awesome. Super quiet tire and really feels stuck to the road.
 
I had some minor rubbing when turning the wheel but as another member mentioned, it’s the inner wheel well liner and easy to resolve.

I drilled a single hole and used a zip tie to pull the plastic back on each side.

The tires came in early so I got them installed today.

These are the Michelin Defender LTX in 305/45/22’s.

The ride home was smooth and quiet and even my wife noticed a significant difference as a passenger. I slipped the tires once intentionally compared to 2-3 times that the old tires would have slipped unintentionally. There was some minimal rubbing at full turn, (in Aero mode), but once I was out of the tight parking lot, it never happened again. I'll look it into more once it stops raining.

Hi OCD,

Digging into some history here but I wanted to ask if you have seen any mileage drop in using these tires?
I'm starting the shopping to replace the Crapyears and loved the Michelins on my Jeep. What I find funny is the 285's cost more than the 305's.
There is also a drop in load rating going from 114 on the Goodyear Eagles to the Michelin LTX tires.

It's only been a few months on the new tires but I like math so yeah, let's run the numbers and see where things are at.
- Goodyear Eagle Touring, 285/45R22 23,389 miles travelled, averaged 15.35MPG
- BFG Advantage TA's, 285/45R22, 34,028 miles travelled, averaged 15.56MPG
- Michelin Defender LTX, 305/45R22, 4840 miles travelled, averaged 14.71MPG

The Eagles were burned off pretty quick doing mostly close to home travel. I put the BFG's on right before I started my current project so the BFG's and Michelin will see near identical usage and treatment. Funny to see a 0.85 mpg difference between the tires on the exact same commute. I compared averages from last year during the same dates and the BFG's were fairly consistent at 15.63 so there's definately a difference and the BFG's seem to get almost 1mpg better mileage. I still prefer the traction and ride of the Michelin's though so I wouldn't go back for 1 mpg.
 
I am expecting my Limited within two weeks and I am concerned with the lower profile 22” tires that come with it. While I won’t be doing much off-road riding, I live in a part of the country that can have poor roads due to winter conditions. I want to protect the rims/tires and like the idea of using a beefier tire. For those who switched to XL305/45/r22 tires, did you have to do any modifications (lifting or spacers) to avoid rubbing or any other issues?
