I’ve not posted for a whlile, but felt an update would be appropriate after about one year of ownership. The truck is a 2019 1500 Laramie QC 4x4 and has 7000 miles. This is a farm truck, which is used primarily on the highway to pick up feed, occasionally haul a tractor and tow a boat. So far...
In case you missed the US News & World Reports Rating, the 2019 Ram is now #1.
U.S. News #1 Full Size Pickup
Another trip of 250 miles today is supporting this rating. The truck is comfortable and competent.
In a previous post, I ranted about the poor quality of the WeatherTech floor covers...I stand by that review--not up to WeatherTech standards.
However, I installed their mud-flaps this week, and am pleased with the product. For approximately $85 (w/tax), the four flaps fit great, were easy to...
After dealer induced heartburn and heartache, I’m enjoying my Ram more each time I drive it. Nearly every trip finds the truck hauling a load of some kind—from straw and hay to paneling and tractor parts. The tailgate fob button that I thought was a “gadget” is actually handy. The sound...
I’m hoping the new Ram will have many opportunities to help our field-to-fork efforts. My Gen 4 never hauled a deer, as I still had the old F-150 hunting truck (it did see some Turkey action). Now I’m down to one truck, so here's hoping many a meal will be hauled in her bed.
I've had rain sensing wipers on five cars--one Buick, two Audis, a Porsche and now the Ram 1500. Of these, the Ram's are the best yet. Although not perfect, I seldom get dry runs, and the speed is generally appropriate for the conditions, from mist to sprinkle to deluge.
Another thing to...
This in an honest question and is designed to help inform those planning on ordering a new Ram. I understand in some rare situations a locker or traditional limited slip differential is helpful, but for 99% of 4x4 owners, the option will never be used and the standard Brake Limited Differential...
After a month of running board fiascos with the dealer (who ordered Gen 4 after assuring me he was ordering the right ones), I went online and found what I was looking for. For those who gave up on Running Boards until after SEMA, there are far more options today (mid Sep) than in May when I...
With the number of threads with information about the new Ram 1500’s fuel economy, I thought members might be interested in the averages for the trucks registered through Fuelly. I will update the information periodically and add additional models--such as the V6 E-Torque--as information...
I went to our cabin for opening archery season. Although I didn’t see any deer, I enjoyed the “ deer blind therapy” and the mileage the new Ram returned. 21.2 mpg, cruise @70 mph, 4 mph headwind, fairly flat. My 2012 with 3.21s and the 4.7 V8 would be 19, so a noticeable gain. I expect it to...
This is the third vehicle I've added WeatherTech floor mats to...and for the first time, I have requested a replacement. To there credit, WeatherTech responded the same day, and is sending out a new set.
My concerns are as follows:
The mats do not set flat on the door side, and catch my feet...
According to Fuelly, the average 2019 RAM 1500 is getting 14.52 in the real world
Here is the current breakdown, by model, for the new 2019 Ram 1500 with the Hemi (gas)
Big Horn: Avg MPG of 15.06
Rebel: Avg MPG of 8.86
Laramie: Avg MPG of 14.52

I believe the following information from the Fuelly Website gives us a pretty good idea how Rebel vs Other Ram 1500 owners drive :)

Rebel: Avg MPG of 8.86
Laramie: Avg MPG of 14.52
Laramie Longhorn: Avg MPG of 11.29
Limited: Avg MPG of 13.56

As noted in another post, the truck was at the dealer for the dealer installed spray-in bed liner, fixing a door ding (a delivery issue) and to remedy a glob of black windshield goo on the windshield and pillar. These repairs took eight days., because when the ding was removed it caused a paint...

Will the Gen 4 running boards work on the Gen 5 Rams? The question has been asked on other forums, but no answers (yet).
I have a 2019 Quad Cab, and am not finding anything that is specifically made for this truck, other than the very limited offerings through MOPAR.
