According to Fuelly, the average 2019 RAM 1500 is getting 14.52 in the real world

Here is the current breakdown, by model, for the new 2019 Ram 1500 with the Hemi (gas)

1. Big Horn: Avg MPG of 15.06
2. Rebel: Avg MPG of 8.86
3. Laramie: Avg MPG of 14.52
4. Laramie Longhorn: Avg MPG of 11.29
5. Limited: Avg MPG of 13.56

The one e-torque listed is a Laramie, with an average MPG of 16.92

I wouldn't trust a fuel app as proof, if 1 person tows, or drives city vs highway, climate, elevation, all things that isn't taken into consideration. My 2019 is quickly becoming a pile of s*** but it does get pretty good fuel economy, far better than my 2013 did.

I primarily posted this for fun....although I did a separate satirical post on the Rebel forum. For the first year, the numbers will be subjective . After the user numbers go up, the averages will become meaningful as one compares models and engine options and cross-shops brands.

My 2012 Ram was 10-15% "optimistic." The first time it read 20mpg for a tank, I thought "WOW." When I did the calculations, it was 17.3mpg. Many members use the readout numbers, which may or may not be accurate. Our current Audi is dead on, whereas our 2015 Audi was off by 7-9%.

I am please to report my new truck does seem more accurate than the old one. Time will tell.

My current average (on the dash) is 15.8. If the Ram is like other vehicles I've owned, it will go up after a few thousand miles. For the record, I'm one of those "record every tank" guys. I recently found the log for my first new vehicle, a 1978 Chevrolet K10 pickup. 8-10mpg was normal. One entry had a notation of, "301 miles, 50 mph max, 13.9 mpg" The truck had two tanks....If I drove this one at 50 mph, I would venture 23-24 mpg? And it weights a whole lot more and is much quicker.

Quick hand calculation seems to indicate mine is pretty accurate too and getting what I consider pretty decent fuel economy, much better than what some others have posted.
