I have 2100 miles on it. Many tanks of gas, some premium. I hope yours is only bad gas. I cringe everytime it happens because I think it is hurting the longevity of the truck with how violent it is.I haven’t had it happen in over a week. I’m leaning towards a bad tank of gas TBO.
I cold started my truck in the driveway to move and re-park it. It initially stumbled as I was backing up, so I put on the brakes, then it seemed to recover and I started moving again, only to have it stall completely. Was able to restart and move the truck. Has only happened once. I never run anything in the tank but Top Tier gas.
...but it has me feeling
This seemed to be the case for me. Make sure you use a gas station that uses high quality gas. I was using a gas station right around the corner from my house for convenience but found out it wasn't top tier gas. Changed gas stations and haven't had a problem since.I haven’t had it happen in over a week. I’m leaning towards a bad tank of gas TBO.
Well, as suspected, the dealer "could not replicate" do to weather getting warmer. They did not re-flash or anything. I guess since summer is all but here, I will bring it to them in the fall if/when it starts happening again.
Thank you @RamCares , I will keep you in mind and appreciate the offer.
I wasn't too frustrated because I was prepared for a "failed to replicate", because the weather was getting warmer. I knew if there was a chance it would be last week or in the fall. Looks like in the fall when temps start consistently being 30's in the morning.
Yep. Only use Shell. It’s been good for a while now. But I’m still gonna bring it up to the dealership when I take it in for service. This seemed to be the case for me. I live in Phoenix and mine was doing it. I don’t think the temperature has anything to do with this issue.Thank you @RamCares , I will keep you in mind and appreciate the offer.

me eitherMy truck does the same thing, the last time it did it I thought for sure it would throw a code, it barely stayed running..I have an appointment the 8 th to drop the truck off, I have a laundry list of things for them to look at.. exhaust is clunking going over little bumps, one of the moldings on the window is coming off, my driver's seat is clicking, and the ac doesn't blow very cold. Oh and my brakes make noise if I drive for like a hour,, the truck has just over 2000 miles, my last truck had twenty thousand miles, brakes never made any noise...a brand new truck shouldn't have all these issues.. not happy with my purchase...
Make sure you are using high quality gas. I had similar issues when filling up at the pump around the corner. Started driving down the road and using a different station for gas and problem went away.I really hate coming to these forums having to see my truck is having all the same problems. My truck is the coolest looking piece of crap out there. Very frustrating putting a lot of work into the truck to keep having all these problems. I am in the process of dealing with a drivers side floor leak issue which dealer could not replicate and now I am having stalling issues. I originally had these same exact starting conditions this thread talks about, rough start, tachometer all over the place, almost stalling, etc. This started 11 months ago when I got it. my center IPC cluster console above steering wheel also went black after about a month. I had this replaced, I think at the same time they did some sort of flash reset and the rough idling issue went away. Until now. Had my car at the dealer on June 12th for the leak issue but also told them my truck stalled a few days ago when I was starting it. Asked them to check for codes. They didn't find anything. I just thought it was a blip freak occurrence. Now it has happened the last 2 days in a row. truck sits overnight , damp conditions, truck actually starts normal no rough idling but when I put into drive it flat out stalls.
Thanks, Yeah, I always do. Ever since I had the first run around. with this problem. I mean even with the worse gas this $60K truck shouldn't flat out stall like this. Been driving cars and trucks for 33 years never even thought twice which kind of crap gas I used and never had an issue. will see if tomorrow brings 3 days in a row with a stall.Make sure you are using high quality gas. Just checking. I agree it shouldn’t happen any way, but it helped for me. Hope you get it figured outThanks, Yeah, I always do. Ever since I had the first run around. with this problem.
