Oh, and turns out RAM care is only free for high end trims in Texas. Thanks RAM - glad I bought a $66K MSRP truck and 4 free oil changes was too much to ask for.

LOL c'mon man, you can't just nickel and dime them for SIXTY SIX THOUSAND DOLLARS for a truck with teething issues and expect quality care after your purchase.

Service adviser just called and said they replaced the MAP sensor and that has resolved the issue. They have cold started it twice without replication of the issue and are going to complete one more cold start to verify the issue is gone before they have me come get my truck.

I hope that’s the issue. It’s been great ever since.

STORY TIME!
After your post on Friday indicating the fuel pump I called my service adviser and requested them to check the pressure.
Naturally, they decided to try two other random shots in the dark at fixing it (unsuccessfully) and wait until today to check that even though I specifically requested it Friday noting that this issue had been known to be caused by the fuel pump in other cases.
So today when the issue was still present after changing a "MAP sensor" they decided to check the fuel pump and low and behold guess what they happened to find... That I need a new fuel pump... WHAT A SHOCKER.
Now I have to wait for them to order a new pump and get it installed and see if that clears up the issue. I fully expressed my displeasure with the situation.

Also, worth noting is that the issue is present in the loaner 2019 Ram they gave me while mine is being repaired...

That’s the problem with these new technicians, they want to throw computers and parts at it to fix things. They completely ignore the engine needs, air-fuel-fire. Check all three first, then electrical.

UPDATE:
The service adviser called me just now and stated that two of the injectors were leaking and causing the problem not that it needed a new fuel pump.

I am completely let down with this vehicle as well as the dealership.
Absolute awful experience...

Really? This could also explain others poor fuel economy. Mine roughy starts also but I haven’t had it in a while because ive been daily driving mine since my wife has had to drive my old truck. I won’t drive mine this weekend and see if the issue is still present

I've experienced very rough starts the last three mornings (at least) when heading to work.
I start the pickup using the remote start usually so it was possibly (see: probably) doing this before and I just didn't wasn't outside to notice it.
The truck acts like it doesn't want to start (but does) and the tachometer is all over the place all the way from near zero to 4K+ revving and nearly dying.
The truck sputters repeatedly and idles VERY rough with what i can only assume is non-standard noise coming from under the hood.
This usually lasts ~10 seconds before it seems to even out and has only been doing this on cold starts but I can't see this as being okay.
Anyone heard of other cases of this?

2019 - Ram - 1500 - Lonestar - 4x4 - 5.7 w/o e-torque - 3.21 gears - less than 2K miles -
lol sounds like a diesel

I'm going to echo this as well. I dropped mine off on Friday at my dealership. Got a call from my dealer Monday saying they couldn't recreate the problem. I found that hard to believe. Lo and behold I started it up today and I had the same problem I've been having for over two weeks. It was 70 out so it was not as bad as when it was in the 50's last week. I find it funny they couldn't recreate it when it was in the 40s this weekend. Good news is they found a problem with my differential and fixed it...which was already replaced once.

I'm in San Antonio and have similar behavior on startup. When mine gets out of the shop for a separate issue, I'll see how it behaves and try the ignition cycling idea also.

Got the truck back from the shop. They did a computer update that was supposed to resolve this issue. It's definitely better, but I still had a few snorts when I started it up yesterday.

Update on my truck. When I first bought it, it would start rough almost every morning so I changed the oil at 2500 miles and it went away for about 10 days. It then came back for about a week, and now it’s been 4-5 weeks since it’s done it last and we’ve been in the 40’s consistently for about a month. Don’t know why it went away but I’m glad it did.
PS I’ve only put 93 octane in my truck

Mine was doing the rough start bit but after a few tanks of only 93 it seems to have stopped. I haven't had the issue at least. I need to take mine in though there are a ton of updates that need to be done.

Mine did that for about the first 4K miles off and on. I am at 5500 miles on my Limited and the issue seems to have cleared itself up

I've been off and on with the dealer for two months here in Northern CA. Same problem on cold starts, shutters and occasionally dies at initial start up. They've had it longer than I have (less than 2000 miles). They replaced the fuel pump as Chrysler told them. Issue came back within days. Took it back and after 10 days they just called and said Chrysler has a software update? We will see how it goes.
