I heard that video before. With that said I picked my truck up and the sound @70 mph is gone. I drove the truck for probably twenty miles in the same conditions as I got the sound and I didn’t hear it any more. So I guess it’s fixed.

With that said all I told them was there is an update for vnc and the transmission that I heard will fix my issue.

I currently am at 9800 miles, mine started at 900 miles. 1st time, they changed wheels and tires because my wheels were imperfect out of the factory. 2 time was the upgrade and that didn’t work, so they disconnected ANC and had me test drive for 2 weeks. Noise still was there. They opened a star case on mine the 3rd time and decided to change out ANC Amp, module, and radio.... Sound is still there, along with my driver side mirror malfunctioning. Today they downloaded another code on it and are consulting engineers. Im going to a lawyer, that’s the last straw.

Lots to catch up on for me here but my short story up front is: after two ANC/amp swaps, multiple software updates, and an AVCM swap I still get the loud hum/drone from the audio system at predictable RPM points, even when stationary. My STAR case is still open and all service has done so far is shotgun part swaps; no real trouble-shooting or testing to find the root problem. I’ve been running around with the AVCM unplugged by service, which also deactivates the ANC system.

Took it to the dealer and they said they found a star case to replace the ANC and avc. I'm now sure what 'avc' is.
AVCM is the automatic volume control module, mounted under the hood in front of the driver on the engine firewall, adjusts radio volume up and down based on speed, adjustable under audio settings and apparantly part of the ANC system. Replacing this did not eliminate my ANC hum/drone noise.

The assumption that it's the ANC just doesn't sound right to me, the sound seems to be coming from outside the truck and resonating into the cabin. All you guys that are having the same problem take a look at your skidplate to see if it's bolted to the frame. Not saying this is the complete problem but I know loose or poorly mounted things can cause a lot of noise when the wind hits them. I have included a picture.
Always good to look for other sources of weird noises, but mine is clearly coming through the audio system, even caused when truck is stationary and is directly tied to specific engine rpms.

Update: based on TSB I received from Ramcare (in this thread) the dealer is replacing the Amp to fix the booming sound issues.
Did it work for you?

...and if you turn your ECO notification on, you will notice that it'll only happen when in eco. This has nothing to do with cylinder deactivation. It is the noise cancelation system and it sucks!
Some may only have the ANC hum/drone while in ECO, but mine is generating noise even when not in ECO. Perhaps there are multiple layers to this problem... ANC, speaker polarity, microphones, speakers, AVCM, vibration modules... wish the engineers would get hands on with the trucks having these problems so they could identify the root cause(s)... I’ll be happy to let them test mine @RamCares !

This is absolute madness this drone issue has been problematic for so long and Ram has done little to fix it... I’m one visit away from a lemon law vehicle here in Florida and I’m waiting on a software update that I have little faith in when it gets here and it’s a month over due from what my service Mgr says... Ram would be smart to buy back some of these Vehicles that consistent makes the sound and have vehicles that actually make the drone sound.. heck I only got 1500 miles on mine and it’s been doing it everyday since I turned 200 miles...
After my next visit ( whatever they try to fix) , I will be contacting a lemon law attorney to start the process... I love my Ram , I don’t want to return it... this noise is driving me buggy and ruining my new truck experience
@RamCares any help would be appreciated

Had mine to the dealer for the humming noise and the service manager said they don't have a fix for it yet, waiting on the engineers to come up with one. What i did find was just the back being lower doesn't do anything, I thought maybe having backseat passengers caused the rear to be a little lower and somehow causes the noise. I picked up 800 lbs of landscape rocks tonight and it didn't make the noise and the truck was noticeably lower in the back. When I stopped to get gas I had the wife get in the back seat and low and behold at about 65 mph it started the noise. So,, it has something to do with people being in the back for some reason. Beats me. I'll have to wait on the fix or get one of those harness's but to me the harness isn't a fix, it's a band aid. I don't have anyone in the backseat that often so I'll wait on the real fix. I love the truck and this is just a minor annoyance to me.

Same here. In the interests of reducing redundant threads on the site I’m merging a couple as the topic is already being discussed and is active in two places:

I asked before but does anyone know which works on the harness under the seat correspond to the front mics? Thinking of trying it with just the front mics working and leaving the rear disconnected.

Hi,

New to the forum, I have a 2019 Ram that's a week old with 100 miles. Last night I turned the car on and as I put it into drive, there was a terrible loud, low pitched rumbling noise in the truck. I'm talking ear-piercingly loud. At first I thought it was engine related but as I tried to diagnose it sounded like it was coming from the car speakers. Is this an active noise cancellation malfunction? It was almost like it was taking engine noise and amplifying it throughout the entire truck. Turned it on this morning and had no issues. I called the dealer and they suggested I record or call them the next time I hear it.

Anyone heard of this before? It was so loud I literally had ringing in my ears last night and this morning.
Yes, the same thing happened to my new gen 2019 ram bighorn. I shut it off and restarted it and the percussion noise was gone and it happened 2 weeks later, its going to be hard to get it to the dealer while this is happening because the noise is so elusive. Let me know how u make out. Thx GeoKam

You can depin the ANC at the harness on the amp. I have a write up on it over at ramforums. It corrected the problem and all systems still work. I can make a thread on it here if others are interested.
I'm interested. Thx Geo Kam

Update on Ram’s attempts to repair my droning/humming ANC: Shortly after @RamCares took down my info I got a call from a case manager and was told there was a brand new TSB out today to address the ANC problem, # 08-033-19. My tech couldn’t see it in the system yet but they scheduled me for it next Weds, wish me luck.

My Ram Cares case manager called me this morning and told me they still didn't have an update for mine yet,, maybe she is just behind the times. I do know the updates are build date specific. I'm not real sure when my truck was built.
