Is this something I have to take my Ram in for? Or if a problem arises, check the service bulletins here.
TSB's are not like recalls. TSB's are guides for the dealerships to follow when someone comes in with a problem. If it aint broke, don't fix it kind of thing.

I have the clunk and even after pointing out the TSB, they refused to change them. I have to go back and do a test drive with them (again) - really disappointing.
So, my clunking was accompanied by the steering wheel sticking while turning left in curves at 30+ mph. Service dept was advised by Dodge Tech Team to replace the rack and pinion assy. Will let you know if both go away.

I have read through the posts on this issue and see where the TSB applies to trucks built before October 11. Mine was built after that, but yesterday I noticed a clunk when I turn left and hit any type of bump or incline, like turning from the road to an inclined driveway.

To me it feels like something in the suspension, but I suppose it could be the body mounts. Has anyone else had this problem with trucks built after the date of assembly on the TSB?

Look at the part number on the isolator. if it ends in AA then you have the old part. I could see where they may have gotten some of the build dates wrong. The part #is molded into the isolator ...

Thanks for the information. I will check it when I get home. Any idea of what the torque specs are for those bolts?

80 ft pounds. I went to 90 and never had another clunk. If the clunk is there though and the part numbers are the old numbers then I would get them replaced at the dealer and let them handle it. The newer ones make a nice difference.

Yes. They replaced the Body mounts as per the TSB and the Rack and the Sway bar end links were the eventual fix. I appreciate you leading me to that dealer.

I will say this. If you guys haven't had the mounts replaced and have the clunk they make a tremendous difference in the quietness.

I lose my patience but after its fixed its hard to beat this truck.

I know this is a different topic but also those that have the HK system and have not had the update DO IT! WHAT a difference.. it sounds incredible now.

Which body mounts they replace? Can u specify.. the ones under the doors?

The TSB documents linked explain it all and show it. They are supposed to do all 4 on each side

I had the same issue. My build date is October 15th. I noticed my sway bar end links were chipping away at the paint on my actual sway bar. This led me to believe that something has to be moving in there. I jacked up my control arm to get my sway bar end link bolt perpendicular with the actual sway bar and just cranked down on the bolt. I got about another 1/4 turn out of the bolt and ever since I haven't had an issue with the noise.

Hey y'all, got my truck back today. It went in for the "front end clunk when turning", loud noise at start-up, and gas tank filler not allowing the pump to ... pump. They replaced my starter and did a software update. They re-torqued my cab / frame bolts and told me to angle the tip of the gas pump downwards then tilt upwards after I have inserted it. Time will tell I suppose. She is running and driving great though, such a great truck.

I am not lucky like you. After they have to heat to remove the thread lock of body mount screw and replaced the new one. The noise just less but still there. So **** it like and old vehicle. Quality so bad compare to japanese.

The TSB is for all 4 on each side so make sure they are replacing them all

With this mine is intermittent. Is there a way you all were able to duplicate it for sure? So I can get the dealer to do this. If I can’t duplicate it they won’t attempt a fix.
