Front end clunk while turning - FIXED - TSB # 23-047-18

My new to me 2020 2500 4WD long bed that I just but at the end of January with 26700 miles is making the sound on the passenger side. It only does it when it's cold and for maybe the first 5 minutes after leaving the house in the morning. I just picked it up yesterday after the third time at the dealer ship but they can't reproduce it so they do nothing. This is very irritating especially with the amount of money these trucks cost now. My 2015 same model truck never had this problem. I have checked the torque to 90 ft lbs on the body mounts. I even video the sound with my phone in the mornings and provided several videos to the dealer ship. I guess my next step is to buy a cheap camera that I can mount under the truck to see if the body mounts are moving and making the noise.

Hi everyone. I have read this entire thread and can't decide if I have the same problem or not. I have a 2020 ram 2500, 350 miles and have a loud clunk that sounds like it is coming from the front passengers wheel area. Anytime I hit a decent size bump, I hear the clunk. It almost sounds like metal on metal. It seems that anytime the front of the truck dips down due to a bump is when it happens. I have an appointment with the dealership in a few days, but wanted to see what everyone recommends because it is driving me CRAZY!

Hey I know this is an old thread but curious if you got it fixed and what it was? My 2022 was making the same noises sounded like it was coming from the front passenger suspension or steering components and I think we've got it figured out that it is a body mount problem, good luck and let us know what the issue was if you found it

I got it fixed under warranty. I forgot what the exact issue was.

My 2019 1500 with 29k miles just started this popping noise.
Dealership said since its out of warranty, it wont be paid for as a tsb.
I do have an extended service contract that I will try to get pay for it. I only say “try” because I am lifted 6 inches and could see them using that as an excuse to not cover it.

Has anyone here paid for this work? How much did it cost?

I’m outside of warranty so tsb means nothing apparently. Figured I’d get them to look at it and pay a couple hundred bucks.
Come to find out my clunking may actually be a bad axle. Make that a couple thousand bucks.
