My 2019 Laramie crew cab, 4x4, 3.92, standard suspension, also has had this same described clunk from day 1 of ownership. Brought the truck in to the dealership and was told they could hear the clunking noise but could not find the source of it. Said I would have to wait a couple months until the next time the ram engineers will be at dealership. Still waiting.
Time for a new dealer

Vehicle is currently in the service department as of yesterday at 10:20am

Vehicle was taken in for 1. Upper glove box light not working. 2. Drivers door misaligned. 3. Harmon kardon stereo doesn’t go as loud as the alpine system in my last two rams but is supposed to be an “upgraded system”. 4. The main reason it’s in the shop is for the popping sound while turning at low speeds. The noise is intermittent so it’s hard to duplicate. I did manage to get them to hear the noise a couple weeks ago but they didn’t have time to look at it, so of course when I took it in yesterday, “they couldn’t duplicate the noise”. This gets me so upset. You duplicate the noise which is hard to find and then say you don’t have time to look at it, now you can’t find the noise! They should have looked when they heard it!! I didn’t just walk in that day, I was in there for the light so I did have an appointment. Furthermore, every time I try to give information that I’ve found on this forum about a fix, it’s not being acknowledged. I was notified today that they are under the truck tightening everything... why tighten anything if you don’t hear anything. This is a very annoying problem and I just don’t have the time to keep going back and forth to the dealership. Also I was told there’s no problem with the stereo but on this forum I saw some kind of service bulletin for updating the Uconnect. I have a couple people in my family that were looking to get the same truck, but I’m thinking of steering them clear of this truck.

The service department it’s at now has been a good service department to me. They’ve been willing to work with me so I don’t want to fault them. I’ve been yelled at by other dealerships and told to take it back where I bought it, “they don’t have time to look at it”, and “why would they sell a car with the check engine light on”, (vehicle drove off the lot with a dead sunroof and check engine light on, I didn’t notice these things when I checked it out before signing). The dealer I bought it from apparently is so busy that appointments are always two weeks out. So my current service department has been the only dealership to even help me. Meanwhile everyone got their money and got paid, and I’m left with a faulty product. I tell Chrysler I’m a loyal customer and I’m on my fourth ram since 2009, but they don’t seem to care. I guess that’s what happens with big companies. It doesn’t really affect them if you buy it or not because they have so many customers. Well there’s over 600 people on this forum and a lot of them having the same issues and a lot of them are loyal customers. I’m not saying people won’t buy another one, but when you’ve had my experience and have seen that you have brand loyalty but there’s no loyalty coming back your way, you start thinking of trying something different in the hopes you’ll get treated better.

Buying this truck has been a pretty bad experience for a lot of people on this forum.

My truck has been in and out the shop since I first got it. I actually drove off the dealer lot with my check engine light on and my sunroof being dead. The dealership I bought it from was no help and refused to even look at the vehicle for two weeks. I had to call Chrysler to even find a dealership to look at it. The dealership that took it in was very helpful and couldn’t believe I was treated like that after buying a new truck. This is my 4th ram and I’ve definitely developed a bad taste in my mouth over this. I almost decided on buying an expedition but decided to stick with ram, and then to be treated like that. I had a case number opened through Chrysler but when I tried to follow up with the woman assigned to me, I haven’t been able to get a return call. Funny thing is that my truck was driven by the dealership employee from Ohio to Michigan and I’m supposed to believe he didn’t notice the engine light. Also the truck was prepped by the service department and apparently they didn’t see it. I literally have a picture of me sitting in the truck on the lot, with the check engine light on but it was too late, I had already signed. On top of that I was sold a type of car loaner insurance by the finance manager for five dollars a month added to my payment. She assured me that Chrysler doesn’t give loaner vehicles anymore. I talked to other dealerships the next day and they were confused. Turns out she was using Chrysler and the name of the dealership interchangeably. That dealership doesn’t do loaners anymore. With all that said I’m supposed to take my truck back in this week for the glovebox light being out and for the popping sound while turning. While I’m there I’ll mention that my Harmon Kardon system doesn’t seem to go very loud and the drivers side door seems to be misaligned.

Hi Darlene and thank you for the update. As described, this sounds like a different issue than the one that appears to be pointing to the body mount isolators and the bolts being replaced. No one has complained about steering wheel response and most feel the clunk in the floor boards, not the steering wheel. Maybe this is just semantics, but can you confirm this is the same issue?

Hi Northeast16SS,

I apologize for any confusion. As a member of the Customer Care Team, I am unable to diagnose the vehicles, however, I can recommend a TSB if I come across one with similar symptoms. I hope that the previous TSB listed may have helped someone on the thread that has the symptoms described. However, there is another TSB that was recently released, it may help as well. Please see description below:

TSB 23-047-18
Date: November 8, 2018
Subject: Noise from A-Pillar or Floor Area During Turns or Body Movement
Symptom: Customer may describe popping or cracking noises heard around the front floor or A-pillar area, while turning left or right (during lateral movement).

We recommend speaking to your dealer about this TSB. As always, please feel free to send us a private message if you have further questions or concerns. We are happy to help.

I asked my service tech and he looked it up. He said that the noise in the TSB is generated in the A Pillar. Regardless the remedy was to replace all eight mounts which seems in line with how some others are addressing by retorquing them. I’ve been following since I had the clunk in the floor since day one but now it’s gone, for now. I think it might be weather related too since it’s gotten colder but my tech said that would be the opposite.

I have just updated the title of this thread to include the TSB # that was (finally) just released for this issue. I believe this thread can finally be put to rest on finding the source and fix for this problem. Thanks to all who took their trucks in for this issue and opened STAR cases, etc. Although I don't have my truck anymore, I am still very happy there is a published fix for this. I spent countless hours on this issue and I'm glad it's finally put to rest.

This is great to hear! Hopefully, everyone can get this issue resolved easily with the TSB rather than fighting the service departments on a fix. More importantly, I'm sure they have made a change on the factory level to prevent this issue from being perpetuated.

Figured it'd be just a matter of time. Fortunately, I'm still not hearing/feeling any clunks, but I'll print this out and probably have it done soon. Thanks for re-posting @19RamLimited. (y)
Glad you are not. It just got really cold here and this morning I drove my truck and its making some noise. Not the clunk so.. not sure what's up now. Pretty disappointed. Ive been really enjoying it lately just needed to get all the updates done on it. There are MANY.. Ill keep an eye on this noise and see if its temp related or not .

The TSB 23-047-18 states that it is truck builds before 10/11/18; so this issue must have been resolved on the production line from that date

Spoke to my dealer about this, Ram is reporting to them that parts are "VERY" limited, they ordered what they needed but aren't sure if they will get enough of the parts as they are very limited as they put it. They have y truck and 1 other (surprise surprise, last week when I called they had never heard of this problem even though my truck was on 3 times for it).

Glad there is finally a tsb, my clunk was getting pretty bad.

Mine is in the shop for the clunk as well. I had to hold off on it since I have a lift, I knew it would be hard to get it diagnosed properly without a TSB .I would bet they would blame the sounds on the lift, although I spoke to the tech who has done all the warranty work on my truck since I got it and he said he checked It when it was in for my power steering issue and he said the lift was good and properly installed, so that was good to hear. Hopefully tomorrow or Friday I can report back with good news that the TSB works!

Wow this forum totally rocks! I started feeling this clunk when turning right (not all the time), and knowing this information about TSB makes me feel a lot better. I'll be calling the dealer for an appointment tomorrow.

Thanks again to everyone who got this issue documented and resolved!

Hi BennySuave7,

The dealer has access to all technical service bulletins in the system. With the TSB #, they are able to look up and review the document at any time. This TSB is relatively new, and therefore they may not have encountered it yet. Nevertheless, they can look it up to review.

I took mine in for service they told me both the service manager and tech both drove it and couldn't duplicate the clunking issue so nothing could be done about it. I guess I will just deal with it and wait to see if it gets worse or goes away, hopefully the later.
