2025 Ram 1500 Order Updates

Little frustrating there are unsold trucks hitting the lots, and sold orders are still in queue to be built.
Keep your eyes/ears open! Sounds like someone had the sales folks looking and they got an early heads-up. You need to get on that list! :)
Absolutely. Agreed.. Definitely frustrating…

@Mighty4 We ordered pretty close to each other, you beat me by a week. Is yours still not in production? The only difference other than the color is I opted out of the off road package and got a regular tailgate(the multi function wasn't available for my configuration for some reason).

Yeah that’s true. Nope not yet. Maybe it’s the Multifunction tail gate holding it up. That’s weird that it wasn’t available for your config. Guess we will see. Hope to get it before Christmas but who knows.

I ordered mine more than two months ahead of you guys, and it's still in D1. Not in production, and only an unofficial ship date (which has slipped the last few times I had one).

I read a little about the STLA Autodrive, Stellantis's true level 3 driver assist (hands free AND eyes free). It's supposed to release next year. It would make the level 2 version we're getting obsolete. It would kill the 2025 for resale. if I'm not going to get this truck until next year...

That's what happened to me. I was looking for a limited night edition but they weren't out there. I didn't want to order because lease turn in was within a month. My dealer informed me one was one the way so as soon as it got to the dealer, they let me know and I got it.

I have to look into that. Would be nice if they just did it as a software update.. But that would mean less money for them.

The auto drive feature is state specific for states that allow level 3. Most states don’t allow it yet and the current ones that do limit it at 40 mph. Kinda pushing me towards leasing this one for three years while they work out the bugs and push more states to allow level 3.

My brother gave some good advice on buying a truck, if you are going to spend that kind of money then make sure you get exactly what you want. That is my solace during the long wait times! That and a nice glass of Bourbon or Scotch and a fishing pole in my other hand. 🥃

Good point. The laws are changing pretty quickly now, and are complex. I think well over half the states have laws on the books now for autonomous driving, but maybe 10 or so have specific laws related to the SAE level. The concern is more for full autonomous (level 4 or 5). At least with level 3, there absolutely has to be a driver that is ready to take control fairly quickly.
The other thing will be insurance. Some states are requiring $1M liability (I think CA is $5M for testing). I'm sure once the insurance companies get involved, it will slow some people down.
Personally, I'm not ready to trust these systems, and it'll be years before I might be. So I don't necessarily want AutoDrive for myself - I was just thinking more of resale.
I think this goes way beyond SW or FW updates. STLA Brain is an entirely new electrical control architecture. It will have little in common with our trucks. Not sure I like the idea of full over-the-air access to all sensors....

I ordered in February and my truck not showing up until 12/30/2024(hopefully.), BUT, there is MY build, on the ground 500 miles away in the showroom at another dealership available for sale. (WTF!!!!)
^^^ THAT ^^^

Didn’t they just redesign the electronics systems for 2025? Why would they overhaul it again a year later?

Your brother is right. That's why we always order our Rams and Jeeps.

Same here.....Granger order in February sitting in "D" no movement (I can still see and truck they must be going to take it for inventory) ....MD had a bigger discount in July re-ordered and that one is in "D".....

I'm not sure on this, so take this with a grain of salt.... I think the "advanced Atlantis electrical architecture" is new (edit: it was new as of 2023), but it just boosts the performance of the UConnect 5. Response time is supposed to be faster, etc. But the STLA Brain and STLA SmartCockpit are ground-up redesigns. (again, I'm just scratching the surface, and not sure if I've even done that right)

On the up side of waiting, I'm curious what new incentives we might see in a few days and the upcoming months. Seems like Stellantis is struggling. Even though most incentives are aimed at moving dealer inventory, it seems like the writing is on the wall that corporate is just trying to move anything in the hopes of staying positive on cash flow. Even when I ordered it, the sales manager said he would not be surprised if by the time it came in they had better offers for me. While waiting sucks, I'm glad i have found this group. I'm basing my expected price on what I'm seeing from MD. If I walk in and this dealership can't come close to that, I'll walk away and order a ne one from MD. I'm not expecting it to be an issue though with what I'm seeing.

I went to well over a dozen local CDJR dealers, and not one could come even close to MD. I mean many thousands. To the point that I can pay $2k (ish) for shipping and still be thousands ahead.

I'm comfortable with what they are telling me, but prepared to walk away if the price is too high. My adventure started when I went to a dealer to look at one they had priced very close to what MD is saying. That dealership relationship didn't work out as the salesman was a buffoon. Ended up stopping by another dealership where the sales manager used to work at the other dealership. Apparently, he'll do whatever it takes to keep people from buying from the first dealership I stopped at. They had zero tungstens and none on order and offered to look for some in stock at other dealerships but recommended I just ordered one. I let him know that I'd do it but not put anything down and expect to not pay anywhere near MSRP. I mentioned the price at the other dealership and he didn't bat an eye, so as long as he holds true to that, I think I'll be good. Worst case, he backs off that price and I cancel the whole deal and reach out to Anthony at MD and start the wait over again.

I'm not sure what the pricing discussion decorum is here, so I'm not really putting numbers out there. Didn't know if that was frowned upon here. Is there a place for that discussion anyone knows about so we can see what others are paying?

I think you're going about it the same way I would. It's great if you can get locally for a comparable price.
As far as sharing cost details, I don't mind at all. If we can't share in the open, we can do private messages. I grew up in the military early in my career, where everyone knows EXACTLY what everyone else makes. When I got to private sector, wow. The HR folks had a fit if we talked about what we made! Of course, they didn't want us comparing notes. So I have no problem sharing numbers here if it's allowed.

I don’t know if there is proper protocol on discussing pricing, but Anthony at Mark Dodge was so low I didn’t even think about trying to negotiate a better price. I don’t think that anyone will beat their price.
