2025 Ram 1500 Current Owners - Discussion, Feedback, and Problems

For years I haven’t carried a house key. The front door has an electric lock that uses my fingerprint to get in. The garage door is rarely locked but there’s a hidden key in my garage if I did need it.
My fob has a key for my bed cover and that’s it. All the other keys I rarely use are in my truck rarely getting touched.
I have no plans to use the keycard unless an emergency arises. Once the phone as a key feature is used, the fob will stay home and I’ll just use my phone or watch since those rarely leave my side (sad, I know). The less things I have to carry on me, the better. Technology is great!
Not exactly Ram related, but what brand biometric front door lock do you use and do you like it? Been looking at installing one.

Took the '25 Rebel in for the recall inspection. It didn't have the faulty ring. Note indicated a test drive to identify any speed drops. 🤷

Jobu no like voodoo in truck. It is bad to have voodoo in truck.

what faulty ring are you referencing on the 25s? I have not heard of that yet.

Hey Jimmy! Big fan of your work for the community! So I got my running boards put on today and I figured they would at least open and close with the door and I would just need programming to add it to uconnect, but they don’t move at all. I know a lot changed with the canbus on 2025 but all the videos I see online of installs show them working even before getting them added to uconnect. Do you think the tech installed them incorrectly?

I have a 2025 Ram 1500 Laramie and the part I ordered was 82219228A

Did he add the sales code and run the proxi alignment? They probably won’t work until then. Is your odometer flashing?

My odometer is flashing so I’m going to say it wasn’t done! Is this something I can do myself?

I have an appointment at the ram dealership tomorrow at 11 so if not they can always do it there.

No, not at this time. You’ll have to have the dealer do it.

Thank you for the peace of mind Jimmy, my local line-x only charged $175 compared to the dealer who wanted 1k so I was hoping saving money didn’t bite me in the end 😂

I know this has been touched on, but why tf did they take away ACC mode on these trucks? I like listening to the radio while I’m waiting to pick my daughter up, but having to have the truck running the whole time is just not bright. Is there a way around this to keep the radio on somehow but not have the truck running?

I think you can just push the button to get to RUN position without putting your foot on the brake.

Yeah, you can. Who said they got rid of ACC?

Dealer added the sales code and ran the proxi alignment, the steps work but my odometer is still flashing. The tech said they didn't see any codes so the service manager said he was going to take a look. Any insight on to what might be going on?

Right. So, who said they got rid of it? They just call it “On.”
There is no accessory position on the push button ignition switch anymore, like there always was on pre-2025 rams. There is only off, and run. When the ignition is in run (engine not running), then ALL of the systems are on as if the engine were running (hvac system, headlights, etc). When there was an accessory position, only necessary accessories were powered up, such as radio, window switches, etc.

I imagine they did away with the ACC position in order to simplify wiring and circuits.

Ah. The difference. So, so long as you turn off the hvac, headlights &seats manually, you’ve basically got ACC, right?

Basically. But your dash lights are on and the engine light stays on or will flash when you have it like that. I don’t personally like leaving it in that position especially if I’m sitting around for 30 minutes and just wanting the radio to be on. Kinda a let down in that aspect. I don’t know if keeping it in the “run” position for an extended period of time will cause any harm. Maybe someone more knowledgeable on the topic than I am will chime in.
