2025 Ram 1500 Current Owners - Discussion, Feedback, and Problems

Hello all. I just made my way back to a 1500. My last 1/2 ton was a 2020 Ecodiesel which was my favorite truck I’ve ever had. Since then I had a Silverado 1 ton gasser for a couple years and a 2022 Ram Cummins for about 3 years. I made the switch back then because I was doing more towing which I’m not anymore. My truck is my daily driver so I put about 25k miles on a year. I wanted to go back to something that was more comfortable but still towing capable. I saw the great deals Ram had on the leftover 25’s this month so I did a build on their site and one came up on inventory that was the identical truck I built minus the bed utility group so I jumped on it.

It’s a 2025 Crew Cab 4x4 standard bed Big Horn. I can’t get the window sticker attached so that it’s readable. Options on the truck are towing technology group, trailer tow group, night edition, big horn level 2, front and rear rubber mats, 3.92 axle, black tubular side steps, engine block heater, surround view camera system. It appears that the crew cab standard bed must come standard with the 33gal tank too which I love. MSRP $66,015, purchase price $52,007. I drove my Cummins 5 hours to get the truck and drove the new truck home.

My quick thoughts are I love how comfortable, smooth, quiet, and powerful it feels. So far I love the I6. The interior is super nice and comfortable. As others have said I’m surprised at some of the things Ram is cheaping out on. My truck came with the tow mirrors and I don’t like that they aren’t power fold or extend, if you pay for the tow package and towing technology group it should have those options. It’s odd that the LED headlights don’t have the accent DRL anymore. The tail lights and 3rd brake light are halogen. Not a big deal to me just seems odd. Looks like my night edition wheels are not a true painted wheel either. They appear to have a black cap on them. Again not a big deal but another thing they cheaped out on. That being said for the price this truck has a ton of great options. I was smiling quite a bit on my 5 hour drive. Coming from almost 5 years of driving HD trucks daily it was just so comfortable and quiet. I think this truck set up for towing will be a better compromise for me than daily driving an HD truck just to tow 10 or less times a year.
I have the tow mirrors on my Bighorn and the do extend, you have to put some muscle into getting them extended. I do miss having the power fold though.
