Upgrade 2022 8.4 to 12 with Uconnect 5

@Jimmy07 is it possible to turn on turn by turn directions on my evic? I used to have it on my 2021 UC4 12” Big Horn. I upgraded my 2022 UC5 non nav to UC5 12”. Thanks in advance

This was sent to me and it worked:In alfaobd, go to CustSetMenu 1: Navigation Turn-by-Turn CSM Present- YES. Reboot the radio twice by holding power down about 10 seconds and the option should show up in settings. Mine is working now with native gps and apple maps as well. Thanks to @Jimmy07

What did you upgrade to? UC5 12.1? If so make sure this setting is as follow
cabin Net: ICS Integrated Center Stack to “not enabled”.

Yes 8.4 uc5 with nav to 12.1" I enabled all settings posted in this write up. I think the issue is I bought a superseded radio (still meant for 2022 and 2023 models) and it may actually be a hardware issue.

Radio: Head unit size = R1_12’-1920 x 1200 is not a setting I changed. Never heard about before actually.

It was set to 8.4. I set it back to original setting and same issue. I bought a used bezel and screen combo on eBay for $500.00. only had a small chip near the mute button and about an inch wide hole drilled through the plastic where the top mounting screws are in the applique. It was p/n for 2023 so I jumped on it. After I completed install with the posted discreps I pull the screen from the bezel and it is p/n 68526524ab which is for 2022/2023 ram 1500 but has been superceded. I ordered 68526597AC as most have in this write up. We shall see.

I make the swap already . 8.4 to 12 ucconect 5 in the 2 unit . Everything works . But the volumen fob not work. The music just stay in the same level loud. Not low or high . The mute button don’t work . And front speakers . Music settings not work too. Any help @Jimmy07

So, I already have a 2023 with 12 inch. But I have a question on the bezel. Does anyone know if the 22 up bezel is different than the previous years 12 inch bezel? I am upgrading the interior to a higher trim level and may want to swap out the bezel.

It will fit perfectly! the difference is aesthetics/color. I updated mine with a 2023 TRX bezel since my truck is a Built To Serve edition with carbon fiber interiors details.

Has anyone run into the 12 inch working with every feature except the touch screen not working?

i recently did this upgrade on my 2020 1500 going from the base 8.4 to the 12.1 uc5 but now i am having issues with the voice command/ siri button on the steering wheel not working. i can make the voice command come on by saying "hey ram" but holding the button down on wheel does nothing. oddly i can push on the answer button and it will occasionally work. am i missing something or possible a programming issue.

I just completed a sucessful swap from the 8.4 UC4 to the 12 UC5. I purchased a receiver module online from a Chrysler Pacifica. Everything fired up witout a hitch and everything seems to be working. Now I just need to finish up with the appropriate bezel. Where are you guys purchasing your 12" dash bezel?

Sorry to resurrect an old thread (and I think some of my questions have been answered), but I just want to make sure I'm 100% on base before ordering anything.

I have a 2023 Ram 1500 Lone Star, 8-inch uConnect 5 without nav. I want to upgrade to a 12-inch uConnect 5 but I do not need nav. Is that a possibility? 8-inch no-nav to 12-inch no nav? Or does the 12-inch require that?

Both of the setups I've seen on Infotainment and DD Offroad have a higher cost when upgrading from a no-nav to a 12-inch - like adding navigation is mandatory.

If it's possible to stay no-nav on the 12-inch, I believe I need:

• 68526597AC - Center Stack Controls

But then what else? Just AlfaOBD and 68504644AE (radio)? I did a head unit swap on my previous vehicle (following great instructions from Crutchfield), so I'm not worried about that. I just want to make sure I have all of the correct parts before taking apart the front interior.

EDIT: Also looking at bezels, I think - there are multiple Instrument Panel Bezels that fit. How do I know which is the correct one? Do the different model numbers indicate different finishes or something? Only having a wireframe schematic looking picture makes it hard to differentiate.
