Since i’ts been confirmed that 2022 Ram 1500 will support Uconnect 5, do you think that 2019 Ram 1500 owners will be able to update their system to Uconnect 5. If not, do you think we will be able to replace our current infotainment aiment system with the new Uconnect 5 version?

Info: I currently own a 2019 Ram 1500 Limited.

So I've got a 2022 ram with a 5 inch screen (I think it's uconnect 3). I'm reading some conflicting things here. Is it not possible for me to swap in a 12" screen with uconnect 5 with the harness that @Jimmy07 makes? Do I need a different LVDS cable as my truck is a '22?

Little update, Jimmy07 discovered that the 2022 trucks use a different CVPM than older trucks hence why I couldn't get any of the camera buttons working on the UC5.

After getting the New CVPM (56029965AC), all camera buttons are working as they should.

It should also be noted that the UC5 also requires a new TTPMs module if that's something you use, and to get the pitch and roll off-road gauges to work you need a 2021+ airbag module.

So at the moment my UC5 is almost fully functional, the only thing that isn't working is the weather app which we suspect requires the telematics module and cellular connection to work.

Bro,

Excellent work! when you finally get finished up, i'd be interested in knowing all the parts you used for this. I got a 2020 rebel and I'm toying around with the idea of doing this, but also don't know if I wanna spend the money.

On my 2021 TRX, I swapped over the radio module (made the custom harness) and now have it playing FM radio, steering controls work. 2021 original screen doesn't power up.
Connected a 2022 Uconnect 5 screen - still using the OEM 2021 LVDS cable, still screen dead. Changed MY in BCM Config 1 to 2022, no change.
I can use the volume and tune knobs on the radio bezel and those work - and they communicate over LVDS, I think.

Any suggestions, @g00fy ?

The UC4 lvds cable won’t work. It needs to be a custom cable since you can’t buy the UC5 cable separately.

Meh…I use car link at $3/mo for the remote start phone app, and it works 100% of the time. Don’t need vehicle health reports because it’s redundant to what I can see on the EVIC. I’ve never misplaced my vehicle before, so I don’t need to know where it is, and I just tell Siri where I want to go on the fly. All the other stuff is over priced novelties to me.
But, either way, there is no way, at all, that you’ll be able to change guardian over to ram connect because of your VIN that would marry to the UC5.
Hey Jimmy, got a question on the 12Inch ,you help me last year to setting up and appreciated , now after i read you have the cell and the internet up and running on a transplant system how can i do that currently 2019 ram 1500 ?

Hi, I updated to uc5 (very nice) but have fakra cables with no place on new module. Here’s a pic of my uc4 module and my ram used all fakra cables but new one leaves pink and burgundy without a spot. Any ideal to where they go and what they do. Thanks

Where did you get the conversation harness for UC5 upgrade?

Hey do you happen to have the part # for the TTPMs module and for the airbag module, can I use 68500728AA?
