Tire Options for 22' Limited Wheels with No Lift/Level

Then Daystar works with the air suspension??? Did you take pictures of that?

But to go back to @d_THRILL's original question, and assuming a Ridge Grappler, the answer is probably a 285/50-22. That is the OE 22" width. At 33.5", it only brings the body 3/4" closer to the tire.

A 295/50-22 might work, but Nitto doesn't make one. Discount Tire doesn't list one. In 20" there is a 295/60-20 that is 34" tall that might fit a car without level or lift, especially if it has the Off-Road Group. The 285/60-20 is 33.7".

Some people are using 305/45-22 or 33x12.5-22 without any reported rubbing. Those are 12.5 wide and 33" tall. But some have rubbing. The fix is probably just using 6mm less positive offset, a +12mm (common on many wheel brands, including Black Rhino) instead of the OE +19.03mm. A spacer would also probably work.

But having a 35" on OE rims and without a crazy lift is pretty special.

There are a bunch of long detailed threads with this info. Happy searching

Conceptually I like the idea of maintaining droop travel although I'm not a fan of raising beyond getting minimum tire clearance. I don't see anything different with the Daystar other than using extenders rather than bolting to and cutting the OE studs. What allows the Daystar to work with the air suspension when the others cannot?

To me, the 1" rise of the ORG and Rebel would allow a 34" tire with OE bump clearance. Using the Daystar would allow droop to be restored without raising the truck. Different thickness spacers would allow tuning bump/droop ratio, assuming the controller would adjust the air suspension to maintain a specific control arm angle.

I'm guessing the UCA used with the level kits is to correct ball joint angle at greater droop angles. Are they commonly used with the air suspension?

The second video talks about the air suspension being a closed nitrogen system with two small tanks under the bed. The first talked about a need to recharge at some point. Is there a way owners are monitoring the pressure and recharging?

Try a 285/55r22 ridge grappler. I just put em on with adjustable front links and front Daystar spacers, you'll have zero rub even in aero. Without the level, you may have to do some light modification.

285/55-22 is 34.6" tire! How close is it on the inside? Those spacers work with the air suspension? How much did you raise the truck?

Why not the 285/45R22 114Q XL? What's the difference in the 45 vs 55?

I recently had Nitto Grappler G2 (305/45/22) installed and haven't notice rubbing so far. TBF I haven't tested at all heights at full lock.

Did you find out if you have any rub yet? Have you been at full lock? If not, would you mind testing at full lock and let me know? TIA

Was just going to respond to this today actually! So in entry-exit there is some rubbing when turning tight. I also noticed a bit of rub in aero yesterday when backing up at full lock (was an off camber parking spot though). Normal mode - haven't had any issues. So yes, there is a bit of rubbing and I haven't had a chance to check where it is rubbing at but I am pretty sure it is the wheel well liners.

A little over 2 inches in height, so 1in more of sidewall all around. With the 22s I wanted something that didn't come off as low profile

Just noticed your conversation. I just put 305/45/22 Faulken STZ05's on my 19 1500. Really like the tires and fit perfect. I have a very slight rub on the right front on an extreme turn. Not a problem. I do have a question. My experience with 285's or larger on a 9" wheel is that i need to run a lower pressure or the tires will not wear evenly. Centers go too quick. My TPMS will not go off. Its constantly is telling me to add air. Were you able to shut this off or re-calibrate it?

Hey guys. Just picked up a 2020 Limited Eco Diesel. Looking at replacing the stock tires with some 305/45 R22 Nitto Terra Grappler G2. Will my speedo/computer need to be recalibrated? Any reported rubbing issues and what was done as a fix? I was also looking at the 285/55 R22 but they are almost 13lbs per tire heavier! Have to think I will feel that on acceleration and my mpg....

I want to pull the trigger on the 305/45 R22 Nitto Terra Grappler G2 also. I don't want any issues with TPM or rubbing on regular driving. Was also wondering if that size tire would cause any problems on a 22x9 wheel as far as the width.

Love the look you have here, what did you use to level? Since if a limited, I'm guessing you used links. Any specific brand?

Can you fit in a 7' foot clearance parking garage? Those are the 22' from factory right? Looks amazing!

Question Please: has anyone here put a set of 285/55/22’s on the air suspension with no level modification made up front?

Question: if so, did you have to cut or mod anything due to not lifting?

Thanks for answers, I haven’t been able to find these answers in all my searches.

Just started reading and searching this forum and I appreciate all the great info. I purchased a 2020 Limited a month ago and, like you guys here, I’m looking for a new more aggressive AT tire, but I really don’t want to change from the factory 22” wheels and would prefer to stay away from any air suspension mods. I can live with the factory rake (although I might try dropping the rear a little at some point) with the DIY suspension links found here:

So.... I’ve added my 2 bits to as many of these posts as I can since as I was doing my suspension i found lots of info here .
But it was all over the forum.

Here’s what I’ve compiled to do the whole thing without getting taken to the cleaners or even do it yourself

Daystar part # KC09113BK
This is the kit. It requires the links as a combo so I assume that’s why they state it’s not for air.... I’ve seen so many with this exact kit how can they be wrong!?! Lol.

This is my favourite part less then $50 Canadian dollars and 1/2” build time. I think they are cleaner looking and fit perfectly (not bulky) and the revel links are so overpriced.
Ball socket to build your own sensor links
8mm stainless
Use stainless threaded rod and cut at 35-40mm. 50mm is dead level and each 5 mm is 15mm lower suspension. ... ish
40mm rod = 50mm eye to eye

Video for the how to:

Followed this video to the letter on my 2019. Worked like a charm.

DO NOT DRIVE FAR WITHOUT WHEEL BALANCE

285/60 R20 Nitto EXO grappler on Fuel Contra rims 20” with +1 offset.

I’m so happy with the result. The truck has an aggressive look but the offset doesn’t fling rocks all over the side .
The truck rides exactly like stock the tires are really quiet.

I put on Toyo AT 2 tires on 22” Limited wheels. Minor trimming of plastic liner.

The new tires really look great! Thanks for posting pics. If you don’t mind, may I ask if you feel the rubbing might be from the width not the height of the tires? That size is wider than factory tires, but not much taller (diameter). Also, have you modified your suspension with a level kit?
I’m interested in the 285/55/22 size which would be a little over 1.5” taller than the size you have, but about a full inch narrower (essentially factory width) and I would prefer to keep the suspension where it is with no level or lifting (just not what I’m interested in). I don’t mind a little plastic wheel well liner modifications to prevent rubbing up front. Thanks for any help.

I am second owner and original owner had a 2" leveling spacer on. I am removing that in favor of the Eibach Pro setup which will be available in January (I pre-ordered through Nick at Gotexhaust.com) so I will swap those out and have a much better ride and same height when they are in. I am getting 285/55 r22 Nitto Trail Grapplers (I would have rather had something less aggressive but got a price I couldn't pass up) and will have plenty of room. I will post pics when its all done.

Plus one. Interested in the same info.

Stock everything with 22's with air, wanting 285/55/22's.

Don't mind a bit of trimming but don't want to lift/level. Also concerned about being able to change pinion factor for speedo.
