Well, I spoke too soon... my replacement steering wheel has delamination at top center after 5 months. This was a replacement wheel for the original that had wrinkles at top center.... I miss the wrinkles now.

Seems luck was not on my side this time. Hopefully my third wheel will be free from disappointment/delamination and wrinkles.

I recommend reaching out to Canadian Customer care to have this documented! You can find their info by heading to https://www.fcagroup.com/en-US/footer/Pages/contacts.aspx and scrolling to the Canada tab.

Mine is looking cut and wrinkled like.. I’ll take a pic of it tomorrow it’s in the 3-4 o’clock position and now the tune/seek buttons on the back left of the steering wheel work randomly

Hi Venom,

If you end up addressing this with your dealer, please be sure to let us know via private message!

Thank you Mark! I have to admit it's been surprising how long I've been on this forum and always assumed @RamCares wasn't able to "care" for Canadian or international owners... I stand corrected.

Sometimes a simple gesture, link or suggestion is enough to renew ones confidence that a large corporation can actually be paying attention to the little details. I'm impressed.

Is anyone else having issues with the durability of the steering wheel leather? I'm on my second steering wheel and the area i rest my hand at (12 o'clock) is disintegrating after only 5000 miles. Do I have toxic hand sweat or something? Our Yukon has held up just fine after 45,000 miles. My 2005 Laramie did fin as well with over 120,000. China.....?
I'm at 11k and just noticed this as well, has there been any dealer help for you? @RamCares What can you do to assist? This is terrible and unacceptable for $62k!

I’m having the SAME issue. Not quite as bad as the OP, but this is BS for an almost $60k truck!

Mine is still holding up fine at 20K, just have to be careful with the hand sanitizer we are all told to use now. I'm told the alcohol will eat the leather in a hurry.

Fuel and hand sanitizer or alcohol based products are a killer for all leather top coats. A good practice is to use paper towels when fueling or dealing with gas and with hand sanitzer (that I do use in the truck) I apply to my hands and just keep a microfiber to dry my hands off after using the hand sanitizer.

The RAM steering wheel strikes again. I have a 2019 Ram Rebel with 8600 miles. The steering wheel is peeling. Come on Ram, get this fixed!!!

Had a 15 silverado and a 19 silverado. I’ve determined that my white knuckle grip all the time causes the leather to look like what your showing. I’m trying to be mindful in my 20 ram rebel this time. Just can’t help it lol

Mine is starting to crack. 2300km only. See pictures attached. Having an appointment next week to have my 8.4 nav screen replace. Sent them the picture to order the steering wheel and have the steering and screen swapped in the same time instead of going there 2 times. hopes it work

Just a thought but I wonder if the crazy heat they they put in these things is drying out the leather causing the cracking/delamination. If you are having this issue and you don't have a heated steering wheel then that blows my theory out of the water. Not sure if all leather steering wheels have heat or not but some use their heat more than others as well which could be why some have this problem and some don't. Just my .02

I've noticed mine having the same issues. I am going to bring it up at the dealership when I get my radio flashed and brakes fixed. I also do not wear jewelry. View attachment 22511

I'd imagine all this use of hand sanitizer can't be good for it either...
