I linked my service advisor this thread and send them this tsb

They were able to get the tsb approved by fca even though they initially said it didn't apply to my truck. It took 3 visits but I made it clear I'm not driving it again unless it's a test drive to ensure it's fixed.
Mine is 11/18 but every little bit helps.

Well I am also having this steering problem, exactly as described in the many other posts in this thread... highway speeds, warmed up truck, good tire pressures, no lane assist system on my truck... was most noticable sticking in left turns but I also sensed it lightly resisting me in right turns, quite scary at highway speeds I must say. Accurate smooth controllability at highway speeds is a must, now I’ve got to go throught the pain of trying to convince my dealer I have a safety problem when there are no long highways close by... ugh. Wish me luck folks. @RamCares I might be asking for your help with this one too after I bring it in to the dealer.

A sticking steering wheel is dangerous. I’d take it to the dealer and ask for a loaner until it’s 100 percent resolved. This needs to be a recall.

Just for clarification, the date of mfr (build) is month and year?

Any way to determine the build date (day of the month)?
Other end of that same sticker gives an “MDH” number which is likely month day hour, though I’ve heard those numbers don’t always match the MM-YY number perfectly... not sure why.

Just for clarification, the date of mfr (build) is month and year? JHill says ......you can actually see the month/day/hour (military time) off of door sticker. I added mine for reference as mine built July 8 at 8pm on right side of label that says mdh : 070820 IMG_2726.jpg

Hi YoAdrian,
We're sorry to hear about this. I have already noted this concern in your current case should you need any help with getting this addressed in the future.

Yep, what JHill said... think of that number as MMDDHH -> 012910 = Jan 29th 10:00am

That seems to makes sense except it doesn’t jive with the label’s 1-19 build date...a 10-day difference.

Thanks Lydia. I think Ram/FCA HQ must be getting the message on this steering problem because my dealership was very supportive. They have ordered the appropriate parts and will be applying the steering column TSB as soon as the part arrives. Will contact you if I have problems.

Well I just got the verdict from trying to fight the fight by going Lemon Law here in FL. Dealership could not replicate (2nd visit) the sticking/momentary cutout of the electro-hydraulic steering. There is a NHTSA recall for August build date that someone posted in this thread. Mine was Nov 2018 so I cannot get the rack replaced. I have to either get a code lodged in one of the computers or hit something when it sticks. Such crap with FCA playing Russian Roulette. I do have a complaint with the NHTSA, ODI #11191415.

My build date was 7/18 and I had my steering rack replaced. But I had to have it replicated and a call to ram to get it fixed. They know it’s intermittent and should find out the reason why it’s doing that fix the problem and fix existing customers problems and stop playing the game of having to prove it to fix it.

Scary that they would rather risk the cost of an accident than do the right thing. Must be cheaper in the long run but certainly not cheaper for a brand that has had a poor reputation for quality in the past.

Might consider an in cab camera to catch it visually.
