Steering no return to center (left turns)

I HAVE EXACTLY THIS GOING ON. Exactly, 100%.

Same thing just started on my 2016 ram 1500.

My 2016 ram 1500 has just started to the same thing, left turn is slightly stiffer now and return to Center at small turns doesn’t work. Occasionally it feels like the right turn is getting stiffer also.

Bringing back an old thread. Those of you that got any type of assistance, how do you do it? I bought a certified 19 Laramie Nov 2023 with 56.3k on it. Brought back a couple times during the warranty period to have the sticky wheel issue diagnosed and they couldn’t replicate it. Now I’m outside of the 3 mo 3k warranty, however I hope with good faith it can be fixed since it was documented in there twice under warranty.

I mentioned TSB 19-002-18 but it states it’s for august build dates. Of course, mine was built in July.

I don't *think* this is related to the recent recall for power steering, since this pretty consistent.

On normal driving, taking shallow left hand turns (say, less than 45 degrees), the steering wheel will not return to center when I let go of the wheel. I have to actively pull out of the turn back to center or the truck will just continue to turn left. It doesn't take very much effort to turn back, but it's noticeable because I can't just let the wheel slide back to center out of the turn.

Only happens on left turns. On deeper left turns, the wheel returns to center just fine. Right turns are fine. Also does not seem to happen 100% of the time, but enough that I notice it and look for it now.

I plan to call my service center, but figured I might post this in case it's something simple that can help me avoid a trip to the doctor.

Have the same exact problem with mine as well! Steering sticks to the left and won't always return to center. Took it to the dealer and they said the same thing, "Can't find anything wrong". After pulling out of the dealership and getting on the highway, the truck proceeded to do the same thing. I'm going to take it back and hopefully they can figure something out. This is a big problem! They thought the steering recall was going to solve it.

I have a 2022 Ram 1500 Limited. I have this same problem. I have about 12,000 miles on it. I noticed this issue early on and took it to the dealership but they say they could find anything wrong. This truck was ordered from the factory and delivered to me. I'm so disappointed. I will take it to another dealership and see what they say. I don't know if I simply bought a lemon. Perhaps I should be talking to a lawyer. I paid too much for this vehicle.

I have a 2022 Ram 1500 Limited E torque 2WD. with 12,000 miles.I ordered it from the factory new. I have this similar issue with my truck. Whenever I'm driving on the freeway and going around curves to the left at 55 mph or above the steering wheel sticks or it does not return to the center. I actually have to pull on the steering wheel to correct this problem.This is the scariest thing I have ever experienced in the handling of a vehicle. I took it back to the dealership, but they said they were unable to duplicate the problem.

2021 Ram 1500 Laramie.

I bought it used a couple of months ago. I am having the same wheel sticking issue. My local Ram dealership's service dept is terrible, and I'd like to avoid having to leave the truck there for weeks while it sits in their lot not being worked on. Is there a TSB out there for my year truck that I can show them to maybe force the issue?

Hello All! I joined this forum for this specific issue. Just bought a 2019 ram 1500 2 days ago. The truck is for my son. My steering without a doubt sticks in the long left hand curve And as described all over this post. We did not notice it in the test drive because the test drive did not have a curve to get into this condition. i checked my build date because the technical service bulletin says trucks built between august 3rd and august 28th of 2018. I checked my build date and it’s July 18th of 2018! just 15 days before the applicable dates! I would have to think mine has to be part of the tsb that close on dates especially since it’s BEFORE those dates. I bought an extended warranty but I’m worried it won’t cover it since it may be pre existing. I think I have a certain period of time to return it to dealer and ask for a refund. But this a bummer. Any advice any of you all have would be very welcome. Thanks, troy
