How to: Add Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane assist, FCW & Auto Hi-beam to Ram 1500

I'm not sure what you mean? You don't need to get to the passive entry antenna. That has nothing to do with ACC or semi-auto park. Sorry, I'm confused.
There's a plug from the rear harness, that goes into a module behind the rear license plate that is not accessible.

Oh, you mean to get to the harness for the sensors? Well, my truck didn't come with passive entry, I added it later. I'm not sure on how to get to it.

Saw a post elsewhere (another forum) and trying to understand without going through 62 pages. 2021 Laramie, came from the factory with FCW. Other forum indicated that is the same camera needed for ACC. If you have the camera are other parts needed to enable ACC apart from the wheel mounted button (and subsequent enabling in firmware)? It seems the instructions were written for a model that didn't have any of the tech options; trying to determine if the other parts like the ABS module, center stack, etc. would be needed still or those work with a truck that has [lesser] tech packages.

Thanks!

This thread is actually set up pretty well to help from having to sort through all 63 pages. On page 1 of this thread there is a PDF that walks you through the process. Post 2 should be the situation you have and explains what is needed for parts.

Awesome - thanks!

I have a 2021 Rebel with FCW and AEB. I have begun the process of adding ACC and would like to check before I get too far down the rabbit hole. I've already added the steering wheel control buttons and bought alfaobd. Currently, I am waiting on the security bypass cable to arrive. Attached is a photo of the HCU in my truck now. Is there any way to tell if this unit is correct, or will I absolutely have to swap it to enable this feature?

Only the TRX has the correct HCU/ABS.

So I completed the adding the ACC and FCW to my 2020 Ram 1500. Since I had everything hooked up prior to my windshield being replaced the glass installer calibrated the system. Now instead of getting the "Front radar sensor plant mode" message it now says ACC needs to be serviced. My Ram dealership can't get me in till next week. Anyone else had this issue and is there anything I can do to correct it?

You need to go to the dealer to have it taken out of plant mode.

Only the TRX has the correct HCU/ABS.
The ACC feature is available on other trim levels besides the TRX. There are so many different part numbers available for these two parts. Is there anywhere to find out which exact part numbers are capable of this feature?

Part numbers are listed in the first post.

So I took the dive and began the upgrade of adding ACC to my 2021 Rebel. The truck was already factory equipped with FCW and AEB. Trying to take on the project one step at a time, I added the button to the steering wheel. I then ordered the ABS Module and HCU listed in the first post. and the SGW Bypass from Kaodtech. Being curious, I began familiarizing myself with the Alfaobd sofware for android. I found all the necessary settings in the procedure and figured it couldn't hurt to just try and change back if nothing worked. I turned "Cruise Control" off and turned "ACC W/Start & Stop". This brought up these three lights and none of the cruise control buttons work at all. After I switch the settings back to the original, the lights are gone, but none of the cruise control buttons work including the traditional CC.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can at least get back my CC until I get the rest of the parts installed.?

I'm not totally certain, but I think I may know where things went wrong. While reading the instructions for this process, I did see the comment that beginning the process of enabling the DASM would cause losing regular cruise control, but should this still be the case if the DASM was already installed? Do I need to bring the truck to the dealer to resolve this issue with a cruise control calibration?

I have successfully completed the process of adding the full Advanced Safety Package to my truck and it works great!! Thanks to all that have contributed on this message blog. My next project is to add the ParkSense Active Park Assist since my new center stack already has the button for it. Can anyone on this blog tell me what all I will need to accomplish this and if it can be done without the 360 degree camera option? Thanks in advance for any and all help!!

Like I said it is listed at the top of the thread. You can use search and just search this thread for all the posts. If I get time, I'll see if I can compile everything. You do not need surround view for this. It uses the sonar sensors in the bumper.

Don't forget, you will need the new center stack with the button. If you are doing the full ACC as in this thread, then you will have it.

The wiring harness in the back isn't too hard to remove. You will want a trim tool so you can remove all the little push in connectors that hold it to the body. The new harness comes with them already installed. Also, the new harness has tape on the end leads that connect to the two outboard connectors.

It is possible that you may not need any sensor for the front. I am not 100% sure on this, but I think if you have the six sensors in the front, you are good to go. The reason I say this is because I hadn't replaced the sensors yet and I had no errors. I did replace them and if it weren't such a PIA to get to them, I would remove and try it again. I have tested this several times and it works great. I showed it to several people, and they were amazed. I will say the first time it did it, I was concerned on how close it comes to the cars when parking until it straightens up.

If anyone has any questions on these, just let me know. Thank you for following up with this @MannyN . I was going to put this together this weekend since I did it last weekend.
Thank you MannyN and Vincentw56 for the information, I really appreciate it. Once I get all the parts installed, can someone tell me what all needs changed in the configs? I have alfaobd to make the changes. Thanks again!

I have bow completed all hardware installations (steering wheel buttons, abs module, and hcu with part numbers from the first post) and have followed the instructions to the letter. The brakes have been bled, codes cleared, and followed ABS bleed procedure. After all this, I still get the pictured errors. Could someone please advise if there may be something I'm missing? The only feature that I am trying to gain is ACC.

Thanks in advance,
Jay
