How to: Add Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane assist, FCW & Auto Hi-beam to Ram 1500

Thank you for the detailed instructions on adding these features to a RAM 1500. I have everything I need to start the process except the wiring harness that goes from the rearview mirror to the CANBUS under the dash. I know you have instructions on building a harness, but I would like to buy one if possible. Do you happen to have a part number for the harness?
I don't believe there's a part number for it. I think you would need to replace the whole harness and that will be a lot more work. You might see if @Jimmy07 can make you one.

Have you chatted with Jimmy07 lately, I messaged him, but have not gotten a response. Didn't know if he was still active on these forums. Thanks,

He is still around. Not sure how often he gets on tho

Man there is a lot of good info here! Hats off to everyone who figured all this out. Found more items I want to add to my truck and currently want to get LKA. I saw a couple post about it for the HDs but only that you can’t just turn the warning on that you will need all the other components like the torque overlay. I know this is the 1500 forum but is anyone able to point me in the direction of getting LKA added to my 2019 2500? Really trying to find information on this custom harness needed for the torque overlay. Thanks in advance.

Or does anyone know where to find electrical schematics so I can try and figure it out?

Might have better luck at hdrams.com? A lot of the same smart people who work with this are over there and others might have better specific info for you.

I tried there but no luck yet. I will see if anyone over there knows where I can get electrical schematics. Thanks.

Man so much reading, let me ask a couple of questions and see if I can get an answer or at least a point in the right direction. I have a 2024 ram rebel 1500, came with level 1 equipment group, doesn't have park assist, or anything, has a 12 inch display with tow haul and traction control buttons. Also has forward Collison braking and warning standard I think on rebels. So evidently I have all the equipment to add LKA, auto highbeams, ACC and plan to buy rear and front park assist from infotainment.com. My question is what head unit will I need? I read some people adding LKA and auto park assist so they had the part number for that head unit. Does anyone have the part number for head unit number for LKA, park assist? I ordered obd2, I'm ordering the steering wheel part for ACC and also the infotainment bypass module which I'm thinking will come with the rear park assist sensors from infotainment if I'm correct. Anyways not to get to confusing just need the part number for the 12 inch head unit with LKA and rear park assist buttons that also has tow haul and traction control buttons or idk that's where I'm confused! Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

Part numbers are in the first post. The bottom buttons (traction contol, etc) are separate and just transfer those over.

You can't just buy the buttons, they are integrated into the center stack.

The following is to be used as a guide on how to install ACC, FCW, Lane Assist, Auto High Beam headlights and rain-sensitive wipers in your 5th Gen Ram 1500, also known as the Advanced Safety Group. I’ve also included a guide at the end of this document on how to install blind spot monitoring. Obviously, I cannot guarantee this will work on your truck, but I am confident it will. I was able to install all these features on my 2019 Ram Lonestar which originally came with an 8.4" Non-Nav Unit with Dual Climate control. I believe this can be activated on any 5th Gen, but I’m literally the first person to have done this (that I am aware of) so it’s possible there are unknown variables that will prevent activation. This install is for those that have experience with AlphaOBD and assumes you are familiar with basic terms and procedures. It is not advised to do this as your first project, but you are free to do as you want. I believe this to be a mostly complete guide, but I wrote this from memory after 8 months working on this project so some things might have slipped through the cracks. Big thanks to all those involved along the way.

The purpose of this thread is not to debate "if it's worth it" or to discourage others from spending their money how they want. Everyone has different opinions on this. I took this project on as a personal challenge to see if it was even possible and with a larger goal in mind than just these stock features.

I have a 2022 Ram 2500 Laramie. Don’t have FCW or ACC - I’m wanting to add mainly FCW. can that be done by itself?

There are similar threads over at HDrams so you might have better luck over there....this is mainly 1500's although some of the heavy hitters of knowledge frequent both.

You'll still need everything just to add LKAS, but you'll also need a new EPS for the HD too. Like mentioned, you'll probably want to look at hdrams.com for more info.

It looks like some have changed them out, and some haven't, but has anyone confirmed if I have to change my front, side facing park sensors(currently 6 in the front) when upgrading to the auto park feature?

Yes, just like the my post says. You can try it without doing it. But when I did it, it wouldn't work until I did.

Thank you! How did you get to the passive entry antenna connector?
I'm not sure what you mean? You don't need to get to the passive entry antenna. That has nothing to do with ACC or semi-auto park. Sorry, I'm confused.
