How to: Add Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane assist, FCW & Auto Hi-beam to Ram 1500

For TRX with speed control only (presently on Your truck) 68436461AI, in case You want to have ACC You need to have 68436462AJ,
If You have doubts, call (888)255-8311 and based on Your VIN, they will confirm Your present ABS part. I see a big mess with the numbers printed on the casing, have no any idea how to connect them with the real part number from the catalogue.
Hi there, I have confirmed the part number with mopar via VIN and they said I currently have installed: 68531864AC
If you look at the website it says it only fits in the TRX but I couldn't find if supports adaptive cruise control or not.
Any idea?

Thank you!

Here’s the VIN of a TRX equipped with adaptive cruise- 1C6SRFU95MN903352
Ask them what ABS module part number is used, and what hydraulic control unit part number is used.

I had already changed them. I would suggest trying it without changing them.
it will not work, acc. to the diagram presently fitted sensor 5YV68TZZAA (pos.12) doesn't support parallel and perp parking, it has to be exchange to 5YV69TZZAA type.

Not true.

If you search on the page for parallel, you will find it.

Hi @Jimmy07 , this is the reply from the parts supplier:

1C6SRFU98MN742236:
ABS Module: 68531864AD
ABS HCU: 68415320AA

1C6SRFU95MN903352:
ABS Module: 68531864AD
ABS HCU: 68415320AA

Once they replied I asked to verify this again as I told them one VIN is with ACC and the other is without, the answer was consistent : YES double checked VIN by VIN

I think these are good news for me?

I also checked with the parts provider that recommended me @Stepanchina and the provided same answer:

I would think you should be in good shape. Just grab the new steering wheel switch and give it a try.
Dear @Jimmy07 @Stepanchina @MayhemMOORE @tdb0021 and rest of the team here, I got a call this afternoon that the switch part arrived, I picked up and installed this night and took a ride for testing it, it works perfect! it brakes, no problem and stop and go works fine too.
It is almost incredible that this cost only $57 but more than the cost I cant believe why RAM does not enable this feature if you want to pay for it after the build....
Anyway I'm very happy and thankful with the wonderful people here.

I have also enabled lane assist but because I don't have the button and according to @Jimmy07 it is not possible to map a softkey for this I'm not sure to change the screen... the truck is so new, I don't know...
Also I found that the TRXs doesn't come with park assist, it only comes with park sense (which I have it) , it seems that since the fenders are wider RAM didn't put it as option for now. I do believe this is a matter of calibration anyways but... who knows why they didn't include it.

The only thing that happened is after I connected the battery I do not see all features in the screen but I also read that it takes some time to "recover" all the features after a battery disconnection.

Here some pics for fun.

Replacing the screen is super easy.

Would love to add ACC to my Rebel but appears I would need windshield and DSAM module at minimum and not up for windshield replacement at the moment. Sounds like HCU and ABS modules are possibly needed.

Do you have any video? I saw one but it shows removing the whole part, not just the screen. How hard it is?
I don't have a video, but it is easier than removing the airbag on the steering wheel. Two bolts on top. Pull the whole unit out and remove the screen and reinstall. Seriously, if you can remove the airbag and install that switch, you'll have no problem with it.

Yeah the steering wheel was tricky but possible...

This is what I seen...
Onces you have all that out, how many screws for just removing the screen?

@vincentw56 If I change the screen I would also love this to have the "Trailer Reverse Steering" (
)
this is a TRX equipped with this feature:

and this is mine:

Is this module out with the only two screw from the top?
Can this be enabled? @Jimmy07 from bcm what should be enabled?

If I change the screen it is worth to also change this and enable it.

The settings for trailer steering aren’t in the list in AlfaOBD, yet.

Here some more details how to change separated switches. Trailer reverse switch is not integrated into the bezel, has to be ordered separately. Changing of the screen is just a piece of cake. Trailer reverse steering control is very nice feature, good to have.

You’ll do the first two, not the last one.
I did this, is there any configuration that I should see in the screen about this feature?
After enabled this I have this light ON, which I believe will go off after several drives and engine cycles? 1624469197136.png
