My 2020 has 14k miles on it and they are currently replacing my engine as well. I thought it might just be an anomaly but guess it's not since I've noticed other customers also needing new engines
My dealership has said they have had a lot of the same issues. My truck now has a whining sound when I accelerate.

Other than crappy a/c performance, I am quite pleased with mine. Almost 7k miles in, been a good truck

Well got my truck back Friday and didn't even make it 8 miles down the road to my house before check engine light came on. Drove back to dealership and they said the code is an O2 sensor so replacing that Monday, fingers crossed this is the last problem.

This is a poll of current 2019 New Ram owners only, intended to collect data on the good and bad of this new model year truck. Doubtless there will be issues, but hopefully this poll will help us sort out the “one-off” isolated problems from the common problems that will affect us all.

Please respond by checking off each system which did not function as designed, and/or required service. If all systems are go please only select “No Problems/Happy Camper.”
- Please consider all systems.
- If a system breaks down after you take the poll, I will set it up so you can edit your responses.
- Post specifics regarding any item you selected to explain your specific malfunction.

This poll will only be as valuable as the accuracy of the responses... Good news and bad news stories, as long as they are accurate and truthful, are equally welcome. Hopefully it will help us all either be confident in our new, wonderful machines, or help us identify and resolve problems. Or both.

- YoAdrian
It down shifts terribly, is loud, worst of all they’re customer service is the worst in the industry. I had a manufacturer defect in my sunroof 6,000 miles out of warranty. RAM would not help with one penny. This company doesn’t care about you, they care about pushing trucks and moving on. Do not buy this truck!

2019 1500 Laramie Longhorn. Guesstimate around 31,000 miles.

Leaking rear window, which destroyed one leather seat so far.
USB hub works intermittently.
‘Device not supported’ message will repeatedly pop up for about 48 hours then disappear.
Display screen on instrument cluster was only working sporadically and no longer works at all now. I have no clue how many miles are actually on the truck at this moment, or whether there are any warnings I should know about.
Tailgate is stuck.

Dealer has ordered replacement window and seat cover (coming up on 6 weeks since I took it in) and is stumped on all the other issues. For a $65,000 truck, I kind of expected better.

My work truck is a 2020 2500 Big Horn, It runs great but the wind noise is absolutely horrible while on the interstate. Does anyone else have this issue? I make the same commute in my personal truck, in higher winds even.. It's a 2008 Ram 3500 Laramie and I never notice the wind noise in it.

I live in Denver and make the commute to Rapid City often, I-25 to Wheatland is always windy!

Main reason I'm asking is I'm thinking buying a 4th or 5th gen, but I'll probably hold on to my 2008 3rd gen if there's no fix for that wind noise/vibration. The 2008 has been trouble free for 12 years, It's just dated.

My 2019 Ram Limited has 11,104 miles after 16 months of ownership. First truck, first new 4-wheeled vehicle purchase, and, knock on wood, zero issues/problems. I am very impressed and pleased with this vehicle.

2 years of ownership Nov. 24th, 21,000 miles and would not come out of first gear yesterday. Tried to shut off and restart without success. Luckily only a few miles from home and it restarted and shifted with no problems a hour or so later. Appointment with dealer made for Dec. 1st.
Still makes drone from ANC and MDS, 8.4 Nav is an issue (trim bezel is nice), brake assist stops when it shouldn't and tailgate cable has a little slack on one side (they all do that, Ford, Toyota etc)

Still love it though.

Issues I have had, and I bought mine used with 39K.
2019 Ram 1500 Limited. Build date of 7/7/18
Dash is de laminating, FCA is trying to help with this.
Had to replace drivers door mirror.
Brakes make noise when backing up first thing in the morning. After that all is good.
Car play keeps disconnecting when my IPhone reaches 100% on USB.
Other than that, this truck has been awesome. I am now at 45K.

FCA replaced my dash, so all issues have been addressed except for the IPhone.
The first two pictures were from before, and the 3rd picture is after.
Thank you Ram Care!

I'm happy for you. I know how FCA can ---k with us to no end. My truck was out of service over a month for a cracked throttle controller. All is good now.

Yikes. That's really bad.
Can't believe they are shipping trucks with such glaring issues.

I'm two months into ownership and love driving my Longhorn. It performs as advertised and towed my enclosed car trailer to a track event with no problem.

I do have several annoying gremlins, that are entirely related to electronics. These started from day one and I pointed them out to dealer before signing paperwork.

Here are the error messages I've received very regularly.
  • Service Electronic Throttle Control
  • Rear Parksense Temporarily Unavailable
  • Trailer Steering Unavailable
After dealership intervention, the Service Electronic Throttle Control message appears much less frequently (but not never). The other two, however, happen nearly every drive. The few times I've actually tried to use the trailer steering function, it's never worked. This isn't a big deal since I know how to reverse my trailer using mirrors, but I still have no first-hand experience with this feature because its never worked.

Two other electronic gremlins don't post error messages, but the errors are apparent.
  • Cameras (rear & surround) don't function upon request (either shifting into R or calling up surround via the display). This occurs roughly 25% of the time and it can happen within the same ignition cycle that it worked properly already. So far, this has been remedied by turning the truck off and back on again. Inconvenient at best and dangerous at worst.
  • When using CarPlay, it doesn't always allow me to play audio from the regular radio (XM/FM/AM).
The driving and functionality of the truck has been perfect, so I'd rather have electronic gremlins than drivetrain gremlins. But for a $70k luxury truck, you do expect the full features to work properly.

I've noticed several posts like this stating, " a new engine replacement ". I'm curious, is it a new engine, ( like a brand new factory one ) or is it a remanufactured crate engine like you would purchase elsewhere. I had a Grand Cherokee that they said was getting a new engine and the paperwork that came with the crate showed clearly that it was a remanufactured one. Again, just curious. Thanks

What particular engine do you have?
