Hi Darlene and thank you for the update. As described, this sounds like a different issue than the one that appears to be pointing to the body mount isolators and the bolts being replaced. No one has complained about steering wheel response and most feel the clunk in the floor boards, not the steering wheel. Maybe this is just semantics, but can you confirm this is the same issue?

This is not the issue people are describing, as the clunk is felt through the floorboard (and can be heard in many cases). It’s not felt through the steering wheel. My 2019 Ram has a June build date and has the issue, thus the date range mentioned in the RRT is not sufficient. My assumption is you posted something about a seperate issue. Thank you for the help as it nice to know RAM Cares is watching and trying to respond. I think there is just a mix-up on the issue type though.

Definitely a different issue. Mine was built in June and mine has been repaired (which I shared part numbers much earlier in the thread). The clunk is in the floorboard that we're talking about. It's cool that you came to share this though!! Thanks

Same here. My clunk has diminished over time (1600 miles on the odometer). I took it in and the dealer was useless but in their defense, I couldn't replicate the noise. However they weren't even interested in looking for it or helping me. Can't hear it....can't help you. I asked them for a hammer and I would bang on the bottom of the truck so they could hear what it sounds like and where it's coming from. Explained that there are large numbers of folks with the same issue documented in a STAR case. No interest. I asked them to check basic suspension components . The response I received was, "There's over 400 bolts in the suspension. I can't look at every one."

It was a productive visit because now I know they aren't really a service department I want to take my truck to or that I can rely on for anything.

Like you, I'll wait until there is a more concrete resolution for the issue rather than let them experiment on my truck which is otherwise totally awesome.

Right. I'm at 4100 miles and I've never heard the clunk return at all since last posting here. I've tried my best at replicating the noise, traveling the same route, running over minor road imperfections, turning the wheels, etc., to make it react as before and nothing. I'm about 90% sure that it's gone without any fixes. I'm to a point now that I finally drive the truck and enjoy it. I thought about pressuring the dealership to diagnose the sound at my first oil change, but now, I'm considering not saying a thing about it. Glad you're seeing the same results.

Mine has started to clunk now that it's a little cooler outside ( contraction of metals), that said its only for maybe the first minute of driving in the morning then once the mount "loosens" up it goes away. Anyone else notice it being intermittent like this? It really doesn't bother me all that much but I understand folks being upset by it.

I notice when I first start driving on colder mornings. Seems to go away once the truck warms up.

Got the Rebel back on Friday. Clunk seems to be gone. They said they tightened up some body connections and that resolved it. They did a computer patch to resolve the transmission hard shift and the rough idle on cold starts. Haven't noticed the shift, and the idle is better, but still rougher than I'd like. The glove box fits better, but the light still comes on after a few bumps.

Day 1/Hour 1 out of the dealership with my 2019 Ram 1500, and have the same clunk at tap felt through the floor board as everyone is experiencing here. Seems to be in the right front predominantly, and feel it at all speeds on bumpy roads. 36 pages of posts, and sounds like we don't have a solution...pretty damn frustrating to spend over $50K on a new vehicle and have these problems.

Are you able to share a screenshot of exactly what the dealer did regarding the body connections please?

did you skip alot of pages? I, along with a few others, are fixed. We shared the part numbers. There are others who are fixed and they said they just had their parts tightened versus replacing them. But several of us are fixed based on a star case that recommends replacing the absorbers, etc.

I'll admit that some seem skeptical that those replaced parts can fix the issue .....well, mine is fixed with those parts and has been for awhile.

What is your build date?

Mine still hasn't been fixed, and cooler temps definitely haven't helped it. I clunks while turning either way with no bumps, going over bumps, moderate jerking of the steering wheel. I have been too busy lately to deal with it further (my truck was in 3 times previously for the clunk) or even get on here
To see any updates. I call the dealer tomorrow and see if anything new is going on.

I don't have that information. The service guy just said they adjusted the torque, which I assume means tightened vs loosened, on a few places where the body is bolted on. Haven't noticed the noise again since.

@RamCares . Any help for this person?

I too have the clunk when turning. Mine happens when turning in either direction. Started occurring after the first few days of driving approx. 100 miles. My build date is 10/18 last 8 of the VIN is KN682473. I seems to be increasing in occurrence as time goes on. I will probably wait until it happens more consistently before I take it in.

I also have the clunk when turning on left wheel side you can feel it in the floor board as well as hear it. My build date is late August within the time frame of the
Service Bulletin listed above 8/18/2018. I have less than 200 miles on the truck bought it last week.

This is my first post. Been reading this thread on the clunking noise while turning. Mine started after a month or two of taking ownership. I have 2019 ram 1500 laramie, crew cab, 4x4, 4.92 gears. Noticed it happens for me when decelerating while turning while hitting a small bump, almost like the weight transfer to the front then from side to side causes it. Of course the dealer couldn't replicate (sigh).

this point duplicating it shouldn’t be a concern as it’s a wel documented problem.

My 2019 Laramie crew cab, 4x4, 3.92, standard suspension, also has had this same described clunk from day 1 of ownership. Brought the truck in to the dealership and was told they could hear the clunking noise but could not find the source of it. Said I would have to wait a couple months until the next time the ram engineers will be at dealership. Still waiting.
