I didn't say you made a negative comment about etorque, I said I've repeatedly read that here; not that the opinion of those making the comment matters to me, just pointing out the seemingly prevailing thought here about etorque.

Secondly, your chart or premise seems wrong, my truck (presumably all the 3.21 trucks too) doesn't even go into 8th until 54 mph. Using your steady speed of 35mph and my above chart, the 3.21 truck could be in either 6th or 7th, lets use your 7th gear reference, at around 900 rpm to make 35 mph. The 3.92 truck is at 1000 rpm is at 32 mph and would likely be at ~1100rpm to make 35 mph. That's a 300 rpm difference.

I've already said it twice...eTorque is responsible for your increase MPG's in the city. Ram claims that eTorque gets 2 MPG better economy in the city than a standard Hemi.

The TCM will not allow you to drop below ~1100 RPM's under a load, therefore you will be in 6th gear at 35 MPH and 1183 RPM's. I will be in 7th gear at 1213 RPM's. I just checked the accuracy of the chart I posted and it's spot on for 35 and 45 MPH. I also checked to see if I could hold 8th gear at 968 RPM's at 35 MPH...it won't.

Missing the point, or distracting from it, that it *won't* be in the same gear at the same speed. The 3.21 truck will often be in a lower gear than the 3.92, until you top out at 8th.

Then dosen't that make the 3.21 truck more efficient around town after 1st gear being that it's in a lower gear? The current premise is that a lower gear aides in accelerating more efficiently.

That's not my premise, I don't know where you got it. All else being equal, and assuming engine at reasonable RPM, I would think a higher gear would accelerate more efficiently. Maybe it depends on how you define "acceleration efficiency". I'd define it (to a first approximation) as change in speed divided by how much fuel you burned to do it.

Except the simple resistance of air has a 3.21 struggling to get that fast. 3.92 trucks just glide along.

It is, 3.92 guys like to rub avocado paste on each other while drinking pumpkin spice lattes and tell each other how much they can tow.

Theoretical paper proof.

Just remember real life facts, not theory.

3.21=4g gears (girls grocery getter gears)

3.92 = MPT gears (Man's Powerful Truck)

Admittedly the head of the Federal Department of Energy did release a report recommending 3.21 gears though.

I never knew a longer 1st gear or 8th gear makes you think you have a TRX lol I think your due for another pumpkin spice latte after getting groceries with your 3.92 gears haha if you want a mans truck get a 3500 diesel dually manual as most women drive 1/2 tons with 3.92s

You will have to swap in a 6.4 or Cummins if you want to tow anything other than your ghost trailer or your 35s that only see pavement lol
