everyone hate there 3:21 gears?

That's a great suggestion.

We could use that gif to show a 3.92 truck dragging around a helpless 3.21. Or maybe a friendly scene of the 3.92 lending a hand pulling the 3.21 up the hill he can't climb.
Actually, this is the one I was talking about, if I can get it to embed.

It doesn't play as well on our dark background as where I found it.

Yea, I figured you meant "jerking your chain" as the emoji. I just ran with the scenes of the helpless 3.21 trucks. It's more fun that way. I see some are still dreaming that their 3.21s have any torque.

I see some are dreaming their 3.92 is a diesel lol save your pennies and ask your wife or mate if you can get a diesel if you want torque

I got this from another older thread on this forum. Basically the results of MotorTrend's pickup of the year for 2019 where they had 2 Ram 1500 hemi's with e-torque. One was a Rebel which comes with the 3.92's and a Longhorn with 3.21's. Seems the Longhorn with the 3.21 rear was quicker 0-60 and also quicker in the 1/4 mile. The Rebel with the 3.92 rear was only slightly quicker when pulling a 7500lb load. And by slightly quicker when towing, I mean barely a noticeable difference in the 1/4 mile while pulling 7500lbs. 3.21 also had better gas mileage. Based on these numbers, I'll take the 3.21 rear for the win. (y)

Uh oh, now you done it. Get the pampers ready.
There is such a thing as over-gearing, especially with an 8spd trans

Just sold my gladiator with 4:88 gears. One thing I can say is there was zero pissing contest in the gladiator forum about axle gear ratios. Everyone just geared (or didn’t) to their needs. Now tire size is another story.

I’ve had my 1500 with 3.21s for a few weeks now. Been up to Truckee three times and drove my 6.8k travel trailer half way up there too. I had no idea it was doing a terrible job of it until I read this thread. If I only read strangers opinions ahead of time, I could have know that my real world experience was wrong.

I do wait in the truck while my wife goes into target. So it does make sense that I have 3.21s. I kinda enjoy running my v8 in the parking lot just to keep my truck cool. Northern California, so you know I got a Tesla parked on each side of me.

They left out the part where the driver in the Reblel was busy looking for the setting to make his horn play Dixie while he was doing the run.

I like the 3.92 and can only get the "E-locker" with 3.92 . I can pull very well 22 ft. Tri-toon boat like its not there while giving excellent push back down grades and hills while towing and can lock in all four under heavy snow and dock pulls on slick moss with no wheels braking loose what so ever. I rent trailers with machinery already on rental trailers at times and need to pull about 11000 lbs to the house (short trips of about 20 miles) from rental place with out having to use my utility trailer. MPG average in town and out more out than in since I live in Rural area is about 19 to 20 MPG. Love having the ability to pull heavy loads now and then if I need to with out having to pay more for 2500 Ram.

when I bought my truck I thought I had to have 3.92 gears but the truck had 3.21 gears and have been very pleased with performance but I don’t get to drag my knuckles on the ground trying to prove I am a man with 3.92 gears
I need to get me some gloves to help protect my knuckles when I walk. I had no idea the 3.92's would make me a young strong man again! Now we have another bonus for having 3.92! Wonder if my gonades will be bigger now too? (:

Mine will ping with 87 if I'm getting on it.
If you read your manual it says to run plus. If you run plus you won't have any ping with either gear when you romp on it. Always run top tier fuel plus.

That's my experience with 3.2s as well, and way worse even lightly loaded with 1-2 dirtbikes in the back. Does it really matter if it's shifting it's *** off all day? Don't know, don't care, but I don't like it. Forgetabout it with a 5K trailer on the back, I have to limit to 6-7th. Not so with my 3.9. How is it that my 3.9s gets 1-2 better mpg than my 3.2s?
Don't care what each of you like or don't like. I like 3.9s.
I would think by selecting "Tow mode" like you should for all pulls it will not "Hunt" for a lower gear no matter which gear your pulling with. The big difference of the 392 over 321 I noticed since owning both in the past is the 392 pushed back on the load your pulling when going down grades and make does not try to "shove" the truck in and around curved on descending grades. The 392 also has bad habits as well as good, truck wants to spin when wet with out loads too easily and it gets annoying as well. Michelin tires helped quite a bit not still there.
