Anyone getting a 2025 with the I6 Hurricane?

I probably fit in this category as I don't really tow anything and I work from home so I just want a really comfortable ride for long trips for vacation for me and my family. I am not concerned about towing as much as I am the interior and the feel of the drive. I got a limited and I love my 2019 but the 2025 adds a lot of things I want/need. I drove the Grand Waggoner and I loved how it drove with the HO engine. There are a lot of people that want a concrete princess to drive around town (Me included). Maybe it makes me a fake Truck owner but I like having the ability to tow something just incase I ever get my father in law's boat. LOL.

I definitely do and the reason I bought my current Limited. If I towed with any frequency, I'd have a 25/3500

IDK, guessing but if a 2022 Supra Premium TT assembly is $1500 from Toyota for a BMW engine, I'm doubting the Hurricane TT assembly will be more given its not BMW.

Absolutely nothing wrong with that, these trucks are now super nice SUV's with the added ability to put stuff in the bed. If they happen to be faster than some sports cars and nicer inside than sedans then more power to them! half tons are no longer for the guy that puts 300 thousand miles on pulling a trailer... go buy a one ton if that is what you want.

And if you believe what you read here, very few keep these trucks past 2-3 years anyway. I see people with 22/23's already traded for 24's

That's cheaper than I thought it would be, I was thinking $800-1000. At that price, id buy 5 or 6, vacuum seal them and put them in storage

The new supra isn't a twin turbo, there a single turbo with a twin scroll turbine for a faster spool up.

Yeah, I know, just used to typing TT. Its automatic for me when talking about turbos but for our purposes here, it doesn't really matter as Jimmy has posted.

Sounds like your friend got taken for a ride not being able to do his own work.

I had to check his brakes last time as whoever did it before put red grease all over them (including the rotors...) so they wouldn't "sneak" and he had a seized caliper I had to replace.
What I understood is the turbo went which caused the engine to ??? and the 11k was parts and labor at the Kia dealership.

While this forum is a small sample size, take a look at any new car dealer - plenty of loaded late model pickups on their used lots...

I'm not doubting it, simply pointing it out. If you're trading that often, many of these "concerns" aren't truly concerns. I keep cars a long time, I drove my 2003 from Jan 2003 to July of 2020. While that was the longest run, my previous cars were kept 7-8 years on average before trading. Even with how long I keep cars, I'm not worried about the new Hurricane engines reliability, I had a 1st year HEMI 1500 and had no issues. I don't really even see a lot of issues with the 2019 5th Gens so I'm not worried about 1st year bugs.

What I do not want to be a part of is a 90-100K 1500 truck; $90K over 60 months is about a $1600 payment. F that. While I like the refresh, the price will keep me away, had the same talk about a new Z06 and Redeye before that. These car prices are simply too much for me to want to absorb and Ram hasn't had a decent truck month since 2020 so I don't expect any great 25-26%+ off deals like we saw then. Realistically, this is what will keep me out of a Hurricane powered truck

The '25s likely won't have very many issues as it's such a subtle change from the original 5th gen (aside from the engine).

I paid cash for my '19 and it's still flawless. There isn't enough changed in the '25s for me to want to plunk down that kind of cash for essentially the same truck.

But, I did trade my '14 F150 for a '16 F160, then over to the '19 Ram as the Ford's hadn't changed when it was time for a new ride...

If I had the garage space, I'd have a new C8. Haven't wanted one bad enough to build another garage though!

He did say that these new v6 turbo engines are "pushed to the max", in order to mimic a V8.

IDK about pushed to the max, there is already a hurricane crate engine using the HO as a starting point that Mopar is claiming to make 1500hp.
I don't know that I'd call a 500 hp turbo six pushed to the max, wait till a tunner gets a hold of one, then we'll see pushed to the max. Neon SRT 4s were 700 to 1000+ whp on SBE's.

Again, that was just the opinion of an automotive technician in that video. Regardless of his opinion, i thought it was informative.

yeah, look at what a disaster a lot of the first gen ECOBOOST engines went thru in the F150!!

True, I'm a strong Toyota fan myself, but quite a few places are still noting higher than normal levels of issues with the new Tundra.

Though it's only been a model year or so, I do expect them to get their issues fixed, but wouldn't buy one now.

Funny thing is, my 2019 has been flawless so far, so was my then all new Ford F150 in 2015. Both brand new American designs, first year, gave me no issues.

American engineering can hardly be singled out - we've seen plenty of engines from foreign automakers be absolute disasters in their early years, especially from some German makes. In any event, I'm curious as to why so many are acting as if the Hurricane hasn't been in production for a year already. I actually think it was quite smart to introduce it in the Wagoneer a year ago to sniff out any weaknesses.
