I have a 2021 2500 Big Horn with 8.4 display. Lots of good details here, do we have a summary of parts needed to upgrade to 12” screen and a step-by-step guide? Thanks in advance!

You need to enable them with AlfaOBD
Below gives you the off road pages and performance pages.

VehConfig 1-Performance Pages Present = YES
VehConfig 2-Off-road Capable =YES
VehConfig 5-Off-Road Pages Present =YES
Will software update work on hardware number CNSC29NFGL? I am currently on software version 20.04.19, TIA

Need some help after upgrade please. I installed a new radio tonight, and a used center stack. Made the two changes in Aplha ODB. functions are gradually coming back online such as CarPlay, backup camera, etc. however,I have NO AC controls that work. I had an 8.4” with manual AC. Do I need to turn on AC in vehicle config? Any other thoughts?

Also. My software version does not have UAX in it. Please look at the photo. What I purchased was a new 68317978an.
thanks in advance.

Did you add the temp sensor and harness? You will also need to enable ATC in Alfa. If it’s like the 4th Gen, you have enable dual zone ATC, let the radio reset, then enable single zone and reset again.

So I went into Aplha ODB and set the AC to dual zone MTC. Works well enough now until I get the auto cable. you post triggered me!

still need some input please on the software version in the attached photos. Thanks

UPDATE: I figured out my “duh” last night and got 39.7 installed. Everything is working including performance pages. I need to re-program my Edge now, and I don’t need many of the gauges on it any longer.

Jimmy07 - Thanks for the cable. Very impressive work, looks factory

Yes, I did, and working absolutely error free.
Just wanted to thank all on this thread who helped me get this working in my 2020 RAM 1500. Followed the trail and have it working with a 2020 radio/12.1" screen. Even pages (39.7 installed)/etc. Have a 2022 screen and ordered the 2022 UC5 radio but on backorder so am looking forward to trying to swap out to UC5 if I can get info on that down the road. Thanks to you, Jimmy, and Goofy for the work done and communicated on this thread and the help/tips rendered!

So believe I have a complete list of parts and numbers to get the 8.4non nav to a 12in screen. Please correct me if you see something wrong or other part numbers that would work. This is for a 2021 Ram 2500 Laramie with Mountain brown and frost beige interior.

Center Stack- 68370849AC ($700)
LVDS Cable- 68082364AC ($30)
Kaodtech Bypass Module to avoid tearing apart cluster ($55)
OBDLink MX+ ($115)
AlpaOBD for Windows ($free?)
Custom Wire Bypass for module and possibly custom cable for hazards from @Jimmy07 (Jimmy any comments on this and how I get in touch with you?)
Radio Media Module-68472388AH ($930)
Bezel Mountain Brown 6EJ802N1AE ($305)
Rubber mat for bezel 6MB16TX7AA ($10)
We’re you able to figure out exactly what alfaobd settings to change for the 12” to work?

Okay, this helps. And you were able to get this done on 2021 2500 ram? Did you have to take the gauge cluster out out in order to do the bypass?
My bad I’m a little late No sir it was done on a 1500 but apparently I got the 2500 screen for my 1500

I have seen some traffic regarding Guardian issues after the swap. I am unable to use the SOS button and remote services. Spoke to Guardian several times and they require a Star Ticket from a dealership to tell them the new radio number at least as best I can tell. I am working with a dealership to see if they can help with this. Has anyone successfully been able to get Guardian and remote services to work after a new radio has been installed? If a dealership was involved any other info would really help. Thanks.

Would this apply on a 2020 Radio I updated to 39.7?

My 2020 came with the 12” radio and it was a 34.something or 35.something software. It was working fine, but then after the update via usb to 39.7, I lost all connected services. But I can still lock and unlock via the phone app.

Most likely you will need to wait a bit for the connected services to show back up. what I'm talking about is the fact that i replaced my radio module which has the IMEI and ICCID tied to 4g cell service. because i swapped hardware Sirius XM can't connect to my truck because it's pointing to another device. this is like calling the wrong number. I'm working with them to assign my "number" to my truck so that it connects. They said give it a few days so I don't have a resolution yet.
