8.4" to 12.1" screen replacement

So I found a whole assembly out of a 3500. Will the 12” screen and bezel out of that fit the 1500?

Yes. The key out is slightly different on the screen so if you get the harness from @Jimmy07 let him know. Otherwise you may need to dremel the key off to get it to fit.

I just recently upgraded my 8.4" non nav radio to the 12" with nav and all seems to be working but my physical volume and search knobs are not doing anything. I can change the volume and tune the radio stations through the steering wheel controls but not by the knobs. The Mute and Screen Off buttons also do not work. Anyone have any thoughts? Also is there a way to get the connected services working? I've called Sirius and Uconnect and they tell me I don't have a connected device, even after letting them know I upgraded the device. Thanks for any reply.

Confirm that dcds is set to enabled and ics is set to disabled. Had similar issues with folks using jscan. If this doesn't work my next guess is to check the pin out on your repin harness

Thank you that was the fix. I swore I had the ICS disabled but it wasn’t. All is working now. Any thoughts on getting the connected services activated with Sirius/Uconnect?

Call uconnect tell them you replaced the radio and would like to activate. Just make sure you have all the antennas

I have a 2019 Bighorn Level II with 8.4 w/NAV. I have access to a 2019 Rebel with 12.1 w/NAV. What I would like to know is if the screen and module will work for me to do this mod?

I can confirm that this module and screen will also work. I have it working, only hiccup was I had to get the unlock code for the radio.

Took my truck in to get the clock spring replaced. They did something with the bcm and reset the unit.

Got everything working again minus the HVAC controls. Look like all the settings took.

Any advice on troubleshooting. This is on a 2500 going from 8.4" to 12", everything was working before I took it into service.

DCSD Display screen module enabled

Answered my own question.

On top of setting ICS integrated center stack to disabled, and DCSD Display screen module to enabled. HVAC configuration in car configuration needs to be updated to dual zone atc. This is also done to the bcm.

Some of these "how to" posts only cover the first two car configuration changes.

Think folks are doing USB sticks and updating the radios. OTA I don’t know if it works… please try a search for updates… You’ll find the RamGuy has a area for access to files and how. He’s very kind and helpful.

But, should be a download to USB stick and insert to radio USB port for updates.

Also the information on what FW your on will be in radio settings.

Thank you all for your help especially @Jimmy07 and @MannymanX. And many more who collaborated with this forum. My experience, it was from 8.4 non nav to 8.4 nav. But use all the data from here. Used parts, screen, module, OBDlink mx, tazer, alphaobd, wire connector for jimmy07 and LVDS wire for eBay. And the Amazon table my kid hahaha

Is it the ICS or ICS rear we change?
