Yeah… I thought the same and but wanted the Towing Tech Group… I think that’s why I ordered the Trailering mirrors.
Quick update on my truck status as I know some of you are in what appears to be the same group of trucks that I'm in.
Dealer called his factory rep on Monday but the factory rep has not gotten back to him. However, my dealer noticed that today around noon eastern time my truck status updated to kzld meaning that the shipping process appears to have started.
This is significant because it had been in JS status where I understand it could stay for a while pending some sort of quality fix.
The tracker still says the thing is in production AKA it's useless.

Good for you Pete! Hopefully it keeps moving now and you get it pretty quickly (seems to be the trend once it actually ships). Thanks for the updates.

Just giving an update. Talked to the dealer today and they said the truck arrived as scheduled today. They have that one and another on the lot. I searched the site and they only have the other one listed right now but both are apparently available. It also looks like they are giving 10% off MSRP. Take a look at this screenshot. You can also visit Hayes Chrysler Jeep Ram online to look. Give Abez a call if you’re interested in either of them.

Sounds like they don't consider it's built while in JS for whatever reason, but once it's in any K status, they update the tracker.

I know you all have WAY better tools at your disposal…but I’ve been traveling around a bit more for work lately, I live less than 4 miles from SHAP.. and lately on trucks leaving the factory, either being driven by porters OR loaded on trucks, I’m seeing Tungsten, RHO and more limited models.
I know when I ordered my 2015… once the truck was built, it was then sent over to a place a couple miles away from SHAP to have the spray in bedliner done, and I think a few other things like running board installs, that piece of film on the pillar between front and rear side windows…
It was very common for me to see a convoy of 15 to 20 trucks at a time being driven by porters to/from.
I don’t know if they outsource that anymore. I do not see as many trucks driven by porters as I used to.. but traveling down metro parkway, I still see plenty. Easy to recognize with no plate on the bumper, and factory plastic coverings still on part of the exteriors.
Just kinda cool seeing it all the time.

Everything J is still considered production, it has not been released to transit at that point, and the dealership has not been invoiced.The tracker updated overnight. Vehicle is showing as built.

Everything K is considered transit, no longer the responsibility to production, and dealership has been invoiced.
Neither of which necessarily mean the truck has physically moved. It's possession/process/payment

Awesome news man! I'm in KZT status. My initial estimated delivery date was 12/26. Now its moved to 11/28-12/5. Yours may move forward as well. Here's to hoping the waiting is worth the wait!!!
Ok sounds good. There’s just little more to the story. I need to get my truck vault put in new truck and need to get my soft tri fold tonneau cover. I tried to order a new ARE topper cap but they have not engineered the curved rear glass window. ETA is February. Hunting dogs not happy. lol
I wish they'd come up with a reasonable solution for a topper on RamBoxes. I saw something a while back in Australia where they just cut out under the windows and reinforced it. perfect idea. Not sure if/how to get here in the States.
I agree for those of you that use them. I cannot use them. I need to put my truck vault in the bed and the ram boxes are too tight for it. I have more use for a gun vault/dog supply carrier for hunting. I had a vault for ten years and won’t go without. I do get the side windows that open in the cap and that makes it much easier to obtain everything in bed with cap. Sliders for the dogs when needed. Works well. Check out truck vaults website.
Yes. Truck vault is all carpeted and protects very expensive guns vice the decked system. There’s several options for dividers. They can’t be easily broken into. There’s more options for locks. You can get tie downs for the top. You can store stuff in the wings. Looks better. You can put up to 2000 lbs on top of them if needed without cap. Etc etc. I would never go without it. Depends what you need it for. If I was hauling tools and equipment, then go with the decked. Putting guns, ammo, dog supplies, and accessories the vault is the way to go.
