Needed or not, I have my oil changed and tires rotated every 5,000 miles. This schedule can't hurt anything and rotations cost me NOTHING. I would MUCH rather over maintain than under.
I have the hardwire kit installed. I purchased some fuse taps on Amazon and spliced them onto the Fitcam X hardwire harness (the harness does not work with our trucks as it comes from them). You can see which fuses I used in the picture below.
That is a total crock!! I have 3 inches in the front with 35's, and have had the windshield replaced twice. No problem with calibrating the safety systems. Main difference is that I did NOT have the dealer replace the window.
I've had 2 replacements so far in less than 2 years. 1st was OEM, 2nd is not. My insurance USAA has no cost, $0 deductible, glass coverage in AZ, so I don't really worry about a window replacement.
It doesn't really matter which fusees we use, so long as one is constant (bat+) and one is an "acc" fuse. The lower fuse location is for the 12V plug on top of the dash. I like this in the far right position, so my 12V is not on constantly. That is why I used that as my "acc" fuse vs using it as...
Yes. In the picture I circled the two fuse locations I used. The lower one is the acc fuse and turns the camera on when you turn the truck on. The upper fuse tap is the bat+ and has constant power. This allows the camera to record while parked and the truck is off. My apologies If I did not make...
I am happy to report that the above fuse taps worked perfectly. I simply cut the "fuses" off that came on the hardwire kit, keeping the actual (barrel) fuses intact. I then wired the correct fuse taps I got on Amazon, placed the fuses in it, and plugged them into the corresponding fuse location...
Well, I attempted to install the hardwire kit last night. I ran the cable from the camera, under the headliner, down the driver side A pillar, and to the fuse box under the steering wheel. I then located an "acc" fuse and an "always on" (bat+" fuse) only to realize the size provided by FitCam...
Have any of you installed the hardwire kit yet? If so, what fuse locations did you use? I got my cable today and expected it to have piggy back fuses like my old cam had, but it does not. Just trying to figure out if there are any unused fuse spots that can be utilized, otherwise, I will have to...
I have to say that Fitcam has incredible customer service. I had my windshield replaced last week and my camera has not worked since. I finally figured out that they ripped the wires out of the splitter harness that comes with the FitcamX and didn't tell me about it. Instead they just loosly...
Had my windshield replaced. Then learned that they broke a connector (on the windshiled, not the harness) and need to come back and install another windshield. In the meantime, my safety features are disabled.
I know how you feel. I just replaces my Rove4K with the FitcamX and couldn't be happier. I LOVE the clean look and no wiring or camera hanging off the window. I don't have to worry about the camera falling off the window (especially during the Arizona summers), or having to re-aim the camera...
I just received my FitcamX today and have a 256gb card I can try. All I need now is to get my truck back. It has been at the dealer all week for a rear window leak. It is supposed to be ready to pick up in the morning, so hopefully I can get this installed and test the 256gb card and report...
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but ALL cars and manufacturers can, and do, have recalls. Expecting otherwise is just setting yourself up for dissappointment. As long as they are repaired, I understand and accept them.
Just ordered this for my RAM. $189 from Amazon with 5% off coupon and free overnight shipping. Will have it tomorrow. Now I just need to order the hardwire cable and eventually install that as well.
I took my RAM in to get my 30,000 mile oil change, then to have the tires rotated, and finally washed the truck. That is when things turned.
While washing the windows, I noticed a small amount of water running down the rear window, on the inside. NOOOO! Looks like I have the dreaded 3rd brake...
