While that’s a decent deal in today’s pricing… the other guy is also correct.
This is essentially 19% off, and back when COVID started, I bought my truck at 27% off and had one other offer that worked out to 31% off. Just came down to a preference in options. Besides the reduction in discounts...
Significantly better than nothing. There isn’t much within that 6” span that I’m worried about protecting, and it would be pretty miraculous for foreign debris to bounce into that void perfectly and make it back to the engine.
Without this skid plate, that gap to the engine is huge and...
I would say that I was also surprised it didn’t go further forward, but seeing pictures above of the Rebel I can understand why they cut it short to fit all models.
Mine is a Laramie, and there’s about 6.5” between front of plate and bumper at the middle without the front air dam installed on...
Got the kit installed.
For reference - my truck has the following:
- About a 2.5” lift in the front
- ORP with factory skid plates
- Air dams both removed
- Fumoto oil drain valve
I had to remove the factory transmission skid plate even to get the front RCI plate on. No real concern there...
Agreed. This is the best writeup anyone could ask for. Nice work!
I received my plates from RCI today and figured I’d try to install quick during my lunch break. Looks really straightforward, but I’m also missing the nuts from my hardware package to complete install. I sent RCI a note so they...
It’s okay. I’m now in the Midwest so have minimal concern for structural impacts.
My main concern these days is sucking tall grass into my engine belts. The front plate alone resolves my major concerns with my Ram.
I do make it out to the mountains once or twice a year, but definitely don’t...
I placed an order and should have the skid plates in hand tomorrow. I also have the Fumoto valve so will be curious to see how oil changes work. Either way, I don’t mind removing skid plates if needed.
My truck does have the factory skid plate package and I have one factory plate under the...
Thanks guys.
I wonder if it was a business that closed up shop at one point and some bad actor opened the URL again. There are quite a few forum posts (other forums) indicating people have made purchases, but they’re all a couple of years old.
I checked BBB and they don’t exist. The address...
So yesterday I found this auction site and did a little bit of research and it seemed somewhat legit based on some forum reviews. Today I placed a bid and won an auction on a truck, and now I’m getting cold feet. I haven’t made any payment as of yet, but considering completing my transaction if...
Okay, that’s awesome on a Rebel.
I’m in a Laramie lifted 3” with 35s and no air dam. Curious what that looks like… but either way I’m sure I’ll be placing an order. I need something to fill that void!
This is great! I’d been looking for something to fill the gap after removing my air dam for quite a while now… truthfully I’d given up hope someone would produce it.
Does anyone have a picture from the front? I’m just curious how visible this is when looking front on the vehicle.
I’ll likely...
My key fob rides around in my pants pocket all day long. Is it possible I hit it multiple times with another object in my pocket while I’m walking? I don’t know… maybe…
What is peculiar is the fact only one window was open.
I’ve had it happen a time or two since starting this thread as well...
You’re over-thinking it, just as I did when I bought mine. I think mine has close to 280mi which bothered me at the time, but is nothing in the grand scheme of things.
If you’re happy with all else and especially the price, go make it happen before someone else does.
Unreal - I bought my truck nearly 3yrs ago just before the pandemic. I just checked in to see how times have changed.
At the time, my truck had a sticker price of $61,270. That exact same build today is $71,380… a 16.5% increase in 3yrs.
I also had multiple dealers at 23-27% off sticker price...
Sorry for the delay, not around here much.
Yep, works quite well for me, aside from the BT issue when I’m too close to the truck. I don’t think there’s any way around it, and seems like my truck USBs never do shut off.
Otherwise, I’m very pleased with the purchase. Wireless CarPlay is awesome
I cut my tabs off, but yes, the 1.5” is a much better fit than 2”. I had 2” originally and would have had all kinds of interference issues with the area behind the tire. Easily resolved with the 1.5”
Same hub size, and the new TRX wheels/tires will fit your Laramie so long as you’re lifted up front and have the right size wheel spacers… without the wheel spacers, you’ll have interference between the tire and upper control arms.
