How to: Add Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane assist, FCW & Auto Hi-beam to Ram 1500

i have a 2020 1500 came off a 21 1500 . i ran the vin from the donor truck and it showed to have adaptive cruise
So i had a issue of the abs module saying it lost communication with the dasm but everything worked as intended, i just had a pesky esc light that came about after changing the abs module. Not having esc was fun for a whole 45 minutes ( leaving parking lots sideways without throttle cut woohoo). But come to find out I added a fuse to the wrong circuit in the fuse box. BE SURE TO USE FUSE 66. I had it in the position right above it. NO BUENO

Semi parking: Changed rear fascia, installed additional sensors and required Parking assist module. Configuration in alfaobd is changed as well. Can't activate my Park Assist button. Any ideas? Checked the manual, all requirements are fulfilled, except: Electronic Stability Control/Anti-Lock Braking System intervention? @Jimmy07 : does semi parking system require to have the same ABS module. as for ACC? Haven't change mine yet, because my ABS control module was lost with the last delivery.
@St-na when you installed the parking assist module did your truck already have the wiring to connect to it? I'm just beginning this project and trying to determine what parts I need to purchase. The only area I'm struggling with is how to connect to the parking assist module and where it is supposed to be mounted on the truck.

When I looked at the harness at the driver front I did not see an extra connector that would be used to connect to the parking assist module.

You have to replace the parktronics module. It just plugs in using the same harness.

I should have a used ABS module delivered tomorrow from LKQ to complete the ACC install. The build sheet for the donor vehicle shows it has the Adaptive Cruise Control w/Stop and Go. Is it possible to unplug my current ABS module, plug the module I receive, log into the used ABS module with AlphaOBD and check the donor VIN number before completing the physical install?

I've got an odd one...a couple months ago my truck started randomly shutting down driving down the road. Had no choice but to take it to the dealer. They replaced the PCM. Didn't fix it. But it did wipe out my ACC. Went back to the dealer - different tech found a bad ground wire to the PCM which was the problem all along. They can't get my ACC back online even after re-installing the original PCM. There is now a Chrysler engineer involved. I'm worried they flashed/wiped the settings/firmware in the ABS ECU/HCU when installing the un-needed PCM on the first attempt. If so - I may not be able to simply fix the problem myself w/ AlfaOBD. I don't really want to risk picking up the truck and having the dealer close the case and leave me having to buy another ABS ECU and HCU to get ACC back. Any suggestions on what I can tell the dealer or the engineer needs to be done??
The dealer won't be able to make changes to the BCM to add ACC back. If they replaced the PCM, that should not have messed with the settings. Or are you confusing the PCM and BCM? But yes, if they flashed the ABS module, then you would lose that. I doubt they will do anything to fix this for you. You installed an unsupported system on the truck. You might need to get another ABS/HCU.

They told me it was the "power control module" that was replaced and later have been calling it a "pcm". Don't know the actual part number.
Do you know if your truck had the ABS recall? That would have been a reason to flash it? As mentioned in here before, you would have to tell them not to perform that.

This thread seems great I'm looking to add the acc and fcw as I do a bunch of cruising and the wipers would be nice to auto sense, I do have a few probably stupid questions.

For the rain sensor is the wiring for it in all trucks? Or am I gonna need to wire it as well as the dasm I'm already going to have to wire, my truck is a 2021 level1 big horn if that helps.

While on the topic of that area will my current auto dimming mirror work? Id like to not loose that function as I've found it to be one of my favorite pictures.

My other question is in the guide the fcw set up mentions it using a radar, is that radar in the dasm? I don't see a radar being mentioned in the parts list but i know some newer trucks have a radar in the grille.

I'm stoked to do this the 12.1 dash I just upgraded too even already has the lks on off button so I'm in the right direction, plus I'm having my windshield swapped to the right one with the mounts for rain sensor and dasm.

Yes, the wiring is there for the rain sensor. It replaces the module that's there already. That was the first mod I did. Your current windshield already has the mount for the rain sensor.

Your mirror should still work.

The DASM contains the camera, radar and all the logic for everything.

wait so is the so is the module there currently just a blank? or will I lose something by adding the rain sensor.

also out of curiosity do you know if any of the side tow mirrors were available with auto dimming?

The module is also houses the humidity sensor. So, when you replace the sensor, it will have both sensors in it.

I don't know about tow mirrors.

It appears my truck does not have the humidity sensor either so guess I’m kinda boned.

I wonder if the plug is tied back up in the headliner similar to the trailer brake plug or if I’m truly up a creek without a paddle. Maybe I can wire it like how I will have to wire the dasm

Hello
I've been trying to find a used ABS module that includes the Stop and Go option. I see that there's a part number listed above in the thread that ends in AA. I found several ones that say they have the Stop and Go option but have a different part number. Can someone please enlighten me on this how would I be able to tell if this ABS module does indeed have stop and go, would the window sticker say that it does? Would I be able to find out somehow using the VIN number? Please help really appreciate it.

The letters at then end don't mean as much as the numbers. Those are revision numbers (letters).
Already haveing the auto sensing wipers, how much trouble for the adaptive cruise?
That rain sensor has nothing to do such ACC. So, it doesn't matter if you have it or not. Read the first post including the attached PDF that has the info.

I had read the first post and the pdf. My question with the truck already having the autowipers with the rain sensor and the auto headlights and the blind spot monitoring. If it was any simpler to add the ACC and lane assist.

You response reminds me of a college professor that I had many years ago his response to any question was, read the book in his damned Indian way of speaking. That was when I was much less tolerant of BS and I so informed that *** of that fact, his response was "you can not speak to me that way" then he ran away.

If you read through this thread, you will see these same questions asked and answered over…and over. It starts to get old answering them, when all of the answers are basically in the first couple of posts, and a few pages into the thread.
Outside of some unique issue, there’s really not much more info to add to this thread, and that’s why these basic questions either get answered referring to the first post, or get left unanswered.
