HOW TO: Add 360 Surround View Camera System

Perhaps, but I don't have another solid direction to chase just yet. I swapped out 68318033AE again and while I lost calibration and couldn't see my left and right mirror cameras, I could select the different front and rear view soft keys. Makes me think there has to some type or conflict there.

I bought a 21 Bcm and we'll see if the dealer is full of it when saying they can program it to my 20. I'll report back.

Do you happen to have the cargo cam enabled (VehConfig 1)? If so, make sure it’s disabled.

And off-road camera off. In mine situation when I enabled that, I've lost top view, grid lines and i think soft buttons.

Wanted to verify since I've made a ton of changes since the factory programmed it.

Chmsl camera is set to no.
Vehconfig 8 off road camera doesn't show as an option. I can try with my laptop later but don't recall flipping it at any point.

Anyone have a good 2021 bcm config file I can run a comparison to? Hoping it's not the tow mirrors and cvpm since I fold my mirrors in a ton and the 360 would be useless if I had to swap them for standard again.

Quick update for future reference.

While I thought a HD cvpm was freezing the unit, it's actually producing the same results as 68451000AE. Both render the soft keys inoperable on my 2020, but do allow for calibration and a 360 view.

68318033AE enables the soft keys without any bcm changes, but won't calibrate due to my tow mirrors.

I just swapped them all out and tried each unit with those results.

Can you do two BCM system ID reads, and upload to google drive and send them to me?
You can do this on Android version if you go into settings and check the box for “do not verify ECU model”.
Select your vehicle as a 2500, and body computer MY2022. Read the system ID and let the list fully populate.
Then select your vehicle as a 1500, and body computer DT MY2022. Read the system ID again, and after that, upload the body_chrysler_info log to google drive.

Issue resolved thanks, yet again, to @Jimmy07.

Simply setting vehconfig 1: model year 2021 from 20 has all the soft keys working with tow mirrors and the 68451000AE cvpm.

A little confused on the tailgate handle. on a 2021 1500 DT can you keep the same handle and just replace the existing camera and add the spacer?

No. The hole for the 360 camera is larger and will not fit without changing it out. You could drill and rig it I guess? I prefer it to be stable if I'm going to risk backing up using just a camera.

There is. They activate in reverse. When shifting to drive from reverse the front activates on a timer.
They are manually selectable as well, to a degree, below 8mph.
There's a good video on them from RAM on YouTube. Just search ram surround camera and it'll populate.

I noticed moparpartsinc.com has more detailed descriptions of their parts than store.mopar.com. That's how I found the part no. for my mine. They include color and whether it's parkview or surround view camera. Their list of tailgate handles is here (items #4).

Speaking of the two types of cameras, when I was changing out my tailgate handles, I took a picture of the two side by side. You can tell the surround view is a few millimeters larger in diameter. Surround view is on the left and Parkview is on the right:

Found some mirrors with camera, single camera for rear, and front camera with ram grill mount on ebay. Starting the parts collection.
I'd like to buy my own harness, will see if I can gather the details on connector and pins needed.

68341000AE was down to something like 7 left in the US when I was looking. @Stepanchina was kind enough to provide me with an inventory list of dealers to call. I snagged one, but expect to pay way over what the wholesale guys are charging. Hopefully some more have showed up in the past couple weeks?

If you strike out with the whole sale route there is at least one seller on eBay with several new units. I had issues with the used ones I bought first from wrecks. Ran more than it should, but at least it was in stock
