What did you do to your Ram today???

Sorry for the question as a new Ram owner, but after only 1,100 miles is it recommended to change the oil?
not according to the book but I always change my first oil at 500 miles since i get free oil and filter at the shop.
doing that at 500 or 1000 won't hurt.

I gave her her first oil change (1,100 miles on the clock). Also purchased a membership at a local car wash that allows me to get an unlimited number of washes each month. I washed her twice today just because.
THATS GREAT A BRAND-NEW TRUCK AND YOU ARE TAKING IT THROUGH A DAM SWIRL/SCRATCH MACHINE 2+ TIMES A WEEK

There are a ton of car washes around here. They have become more plentiful than banks and churches. NOT ONE IS TOUCHLESS! So, my truck stays dirty a lot. Hand washes only.
thats the same for me and my area . they have "luxury" car washes like Charlies in the area but it still runs through the wash then employees hand dry and vacuum your car for you lol

all my vehicles are hand washed

I tried to watch that but science Stevo is just too long winded to follow.
I love his videos, because he does explain the science, and isn't just one of those guys who just say, you have to believe me because I say so. He's also not biased towards one brand of oil over another, as long as the UOAs support the usage.

I keep telling myself I’ll wash the Jeep (05 LJ) one day, but then I just look at it and say meh, it’s fine. Hasn’t been washed in years. Literally. The doors, windows, and windshield all leak water when it rains. It’s the crappy weather day driver while the truck sits comfy and safe in its garage spot.

Might wanna ease up on that.. imagine your clear coat getting hit with high pressure jets twice daily in the long term can’t be good. Just because you can run it multiple times might wanna just start sticking with when the trucks dirty enough.

I don’t disagree at all. Given the location of the car wash relative to my house and commute to work, I would venture a guess that I end up washing it about every other week, maybe three times/month. I also applied a ceramic coating to the paint the first weekend I owned it which will go a long way in protecting the paint.

Updated the nav with the "latest" file from November. Hardly ever use the truck's nav, usually google maps since my phone is always with me, but I figured since the version in the truck was from '21, why not? Took less than half an hour to copy from my usb to the truck, install was issue-free. Now I should be good for another few years ;)
