What did you do to your Ram today???

Finally had some time to clean up the Ram after 5 years of family duty, she is looking pretty good. I could have done a lot more in terms of paint correction, but I used this as a truck and it spends all of its days outside. So I just accept that it will not be a garage queen.

So per the suggestion of another member here, I bought some of the Jescar Power Lock Amazon Link and I am pretty pleased with the results.

Looks outstanding!

Finally had a nice weather day so I washed it. Pulled it into the shop to wipe it down with some detail spray and clean the glass. While on the top platform of step ladder (about 4’) cleaning the sunroof glass, I stepped off the wrong side (no steps) and ended up on the concrete on my shoulder and back. Dumbass move. I’m in my 50’s and I know I’m going to be feeling that for a week. All good though. Had to lay there a minute or so and catch my breath though. Gotta clean the interior on my next day off.

Not today necessarily but over the past month she got a light bar, blacked out skid plate, red tow hooks, grill marker lights, 2.5" lift up front with ready lift ucas and 1" rear. 2" wheel spacers all around and some long john mud flaps. Waiting out the winter and then some rims and 35s. 33" just look silly now 😜
What lights did you use for grille?

Hopefully the interior will be a safer event ;). Seriously tho, glad it wasn't worse for you

Glad you didn't harm the truck! ;)

Just wait till your truck gets together with its other truck friends. You are gonna get roasted bud!

Busy-ish day with stuff

- tightened the A and B pillar body mounts to 90ft/lbs. all four had a half to nearly a full turn until torqued 😳
—> i also discovered that despite having a 2023, I still have what are considered the “old” body mount lowers… Makes me wonder if the upper body mounts are also the old ones. If this clunk doesn’t go away that’s the route I’m going next.

- also went over the entire undercarriage and hit any small rust spots.

- installed Lasfit LEDs in high / low / fog / reverse lights. MAN the lows were an absolute pita.

-swapped out my front sway bar bushings…chasing the notorious clunk 🤦‍♂️
The oem bushings weren’t all that bad IMO.

Went for a test drive and felt just the slightest clunk only once..hoping that was everything sorta reseating. Otherwise the test drive felt amazing with the core 4x4 rear sway bar ends i put on yesterday. I can tell the helwig is back there again.

Geez, sorry to hear that. That’s crazy! Not too bad today. Pretty sore but still pulled off a 15 hour work day, though I was moving a little slower.

I gave her her first oil change (1,100 miles on the clock). Also purchased a membership at a local car wash that allows me to get an unlimited number of washes each month. I washed her twice today just because.
Be careful bro.

Washing too often can affect the integrity of your tire composition and deteriorate the left phalange.

Sorry for the question as a new Ram owner, but after only 1,100 miles is it recommended to change the oil?
No, not recommended by Ram, but damn sure won’t hurt. I bought a Valvomax oil plug that I wanted to install so I took the opportunity to put the oil I wanted in the truck (Mobil 1) and install the quick change plug at the same time.
