I had my Usb hub replaced about a week ago and so far so good with my CarPlay etc.
One thing I have noticed that might be a problem: I have a USB power pack (battery) that I use to charge my phone and other devices when not in the truck. When I’m in my truck I will often plug that power pack into the front USB port to “recharge” it. I am starting to see a pattern that leads me to believe that power pack might be causing issues when plugged into the USB port. I’m wondering if the usb hub isn’t sure what kind of device it is, tries to recognize it as a “media device”, and glitches out. Because now that my media hub has been replaced, it has been good 99% of the time but when that power pack has been plugged in, it gets wonky.
So just to isolate the problems I would make sure you don’t have any other devices plugged into the USB ports except for your one device (phone). The usb hub might still need to be replaced but I think there might also be an issue where certain “other” devices cause the media hub to freeze up.
