Theme settings

@RamCares Has there been any updates on the instrument cluster Theme reverting back to default after turning off and restarting the truck?? I have had the same issue. I have taken it to the dealer and all they say is there are no updates. Is there a star case for this yet??

Hi ptrnfan,
Unfortunately, I do not have an ETA on a software update for this concern. Although, we have notified the appropriate teams in order to have this researched. If you are experiencing this, we would like to have this properly documented so we ask that you sent us a private message with your VIN, current mileage and the name of your dealer.

For everyone interested, FCA software engineers have been out done by Zautomotive... unbelievable. If you're lucky enough to have purchased their little black miracle worker, the Tazer DT... it locks in whatever Splash/evic screen you want to match the radio theme of your choice. Never changes, locked in until you change it, remote start or manual start, doesn't matter.

My question/challenge to the Ram/FCA engineers responsible for this and other electronic system glitches... Why the hell is a little after market team able to jailbreak your **** software and make it better with a wee little plug and play device? And why the hell is it taking so long for you and your vast resources to patch your ****ty software so we, your paying customers, can enjoy trouble free bluetooth, radio memory, favorites and consistent theme functionality? Why?

Pretty pathetic.

Anyone wanting control of their 5th Gen Ram... but a Tazer DT. Worth every penny.

...I also complained about not being able to adjust the display brightness. It's either full bright or very dim. Dimmer switch is useless. Take it off the first detent and it goes very dim, then probably only adjust about a lumen the rest of the way down.

I also find this an irritating characteristic. The “dimmer” control is essentially binary; either full on or just about off.

Would really like to see this addressed.

Won't be according to Deidre at FCA. They said this is they way they were designed and it was standard operation.

This is my #1 pet peeve.

Great truck, but a couple of shortcomings. The auto braking feature IMHO is too sensitive and the two interior dimmer switches functionality. If that's how they're designed then its time for a new design. Too dim and too bright should not be the only options for this awesome truck. Hope this gets address. Don't let the distance traveled to the current version of the truck be sucker into some easily corrected unacceptable features.

Good afternoon,
We understand how this would be frustrating. Please send us a private message if you decide to have your dealers look into this so we can have this documented and looked into further.

I took my 19 blacked out bighorn to a dealer and there it no update for Uconnect or software at all. Idk what’s causing it but it’s very annoying

Though the default theme isn't my choice, I decided to stick with it just because it was easier than fighting with it. I likely would never have noticed until I visited this forum, but it can't be unseen now. It took me a few tries to get it to remember my button order along the bottom though.

The most annoying first world problem I have now is that the media menu keeps defaulting to the CD player, which I have never used once (and likely never will) and that's on page two. The only thing I use is USB1.

If I could hide the other USB inputs and the AM frequency selection, that would be amazing. (Maybe the Tazer does this?) but at this point I'd just settle for remembering settings.

Can anyone with a Rebel 12 please confirm if they even have a “rebel” theme as an option? It’s the diamond plate-like theme with red accents and more square looking numbers in the cluster. I do not, and it is making me nuts because I know when I bought the truck it had this theme, and I’m watching YouTube videos and see it on there, but my truck doesn’t show it in the settings, and it’s on the default Ram 1500 which is a smooth background (and the same old theme my Cherokee had etc.

I'm having this same problem. I have 2019 Ram 1500 Lone Star with 8.4 screen. I thought I had fixed it because I noticed that the cluster screen would not change if I started it regularly (not remote start). But after about 5 hrs in the truck in and out, on and off I noticed the cluster went back to default while the center console didn't change. Its hella frustrating because this display just does what it wants.

I just bought a used 2019 Bighorn and noticed the issue right away. Still no fix?

Not that I'm aware. My truck is two years old and still no fix to this. Very disappointing. I love my truck but this is just irritating
