Ram Officially Announces G/T Package For 2022 Ram 1500 Laramie & Rebel!

Why do you need a console-mounted shifter if you have steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters.

Seems redundant to me and it takes up a lot of console space.

I do like that they are finally adding the Mopar Ram Airflow cold air intake married to the Mopar Cat-Back Exhaust System. (y)

They must have finally got CARB certified.

Hopefully we finally get to see the specs from Mopar on what adding the Mopar Ram Airflow CAI and the Mopar Cat-Back Exhaust System add to the HP and torque of the 5.7 HEMI Engine.

This looks like the same sport hood that we have seen on other sport models so no active vents.

If Ram is going to have a GT model let's get some active vents so this baby can really breathe. :devilish:

My only other complaint about this G/T Package is why would you ad the extra weight of a Crew Cab configuration only with an eTorque mild-hybrid assist.

For people looking for a G/T package in a truck you would want to drop the weight of the truck as much as possible so that we would have a quicker time on the track and the road.

So make this package available in a Quad Cab with no eTorque.

Come on Ram Engineer's who exactly is your target market here???

Yes exactly, QC, no E-crap, stock mechanical limited slip, paddle shifters, no console shift (because wtf for?). And for gawd sake why didn't this come with the NA 6.2? This truck is slower than my 19 5.7 QC. GT? Not quite.

I recently ordered my Laramie with the GT package. I forgot to add the pois traction. Does anyone know how to add it after it gets here? Thanks
Posi is standard on Rebel with the 3:92 gear being the only gear ratio

The Laramie doesn't come with posi. I did get to add on the Electric unit.

I guess I'm in the minority here re: the rotary dial. I like the console transmission lever instead but yes, I do admit it likely ruins the sliding tray feature.

Regarding the 6.2 NA engine, there is no way in heck that Stellantis will offer that engine in the 1500's. In my opinion, it would undercut the TRX and we can't have that, can we? Corporate America is all about extracting all the dollars they can out of your pocket. I'm new to these forums here, and new to RAM trucks, but I see that RAM is just as bad as Jeep when it comes to offering configurations/options. It's all about strategically packaging desired options in such a way as to drive up the price of the vehicle as much as possible. Jeep is awful with this and it appears RAM is just as bad (makes sense, they share the same parent company of course)

You a pilot?

Could someone confirm for me a couple things:
1. Do all 2022's come with remote tailgate release? The Canadian Ram site states: "Standard Dampened Tailgate. The 2022 Ram 1500 comes with a standard dampened tailgate with remote power release."
2. Does the G/T package come with a flat bottom steering wheel? I see it referenced on a bunch of articles however nothing on the official Ram package. "Leather-Wrapped Steering Wheel (SC4)" Not sure if this is the flat bottom or not.

Just ordered mine. Laramie with Night Package. Anybody have pics of the intake? Did they have to redesign it to coexist with the eTorque unit?

Go to 5th generation power trains. 5.7 Cold Air Intakes.

The shifter definitely looks sweet in the console but one of my favorite things about rams interior is the center console set up. If I was getting a 22 I probably would order it. I already added the ram air intake but I went with borla ATAK exhaust. I’m sure the Mopar is nice but it will not sound as good as my borla
The GT exhaust is a rebranded Borla Atak, it's not the Mopar Catback they already have on market

Everyone talking about the lack of actual performance improvement…that ain’t who is buying and interested in this package. Most will be buying it to have the stickers, sport hood, and all the stuff that makes them look cool/fast while driving.

Anyone actually interested in performance would go do it themselves aftermarket.
100%..I bought the Sport with G/T Package (definitely not for the stickers) but for everything else it has to offer, it was cheaper to add the package then to add the ram air and catback to a none gt model, plus the interior

I like that’s it’s an option especially for those that haven’t complained about the dial shifter after all these years. Sticker definitely needs to go. I guess for me I can careless that it doesn’t have a sport mode.. seems unnecessary in a full size pick up truck (yes I know Trx blah blah). I would be curious on how much space is lost in the console with the shifter know. That’s one thing I loved about the 5th gen plenty of console space but I’m probably one of the minority that didn’t mind the dial shifter once you got use to it and appreciated the space it freed up.

Not to much space is lost dont even notice it I had a 2019 5th gen and traded in for 2022 gt model and couldn't be, the interior comfort is above and beyond

Not sure where you got that info, but if you take a look at your muffler you'll see that it is not a Borla

From a mopar service tech...it's the exact same muffler right down to the measurements, they put a mopar "sticker" over top the borla and call it their own, they just kept the resonators on for drone, but it's still loud AF with them

That mopar service tech doesn't know what he's talking about. The G/T muffler looks like the stock muffler, not like the atak or any Borla muffler.
