Ram 1500 governed ?

I’m all for speed but make sure you have tires that are rated for it. I’ve heard of failures like this and it’s never pretty. Blowing a stock truck tire while trying to do 150 mph doesn’t sound like fun to me.

In my younger days I wouldn’t even think about that. Guess I’m getting old and common sense is finally creeping in.😆

Keep in mind if you have warranty and show up to the dealership with a different pcm this will 100% void your warranty. If you have warranty and still want you do it you could swap the pcms before going to dealership for work, takes like 10 minutes.
Wow, first post on this forum, and you've got your fists up already. See the post (linked below) - any service tech can easily determine if you've swapped the PCM. So your warranty is not safe by sneaking around and trying to pretend you didn't do it.

I am running Toyo Open Country AT3s and they list them at top speed of 118. Not sure I would want to push it.

I drive the back roads in Texas. When you are passing two semi-trucks and farmer John's wife doesn't look to see if anyone is passing those trucks and turns right onto the highway, the 104 limit has almost killed me twice. Never had that problem with my F-150 and a Coyote motor. It's not about top speed, it's about clearing a Semi going uphill. Dangerous.

One could argue that farmer John's wife almost killed you, not the speed limiter. And Johnny Lawman would say if you need to go 24+ MPH over the speed limit to pass someone, you're probably not doing it safely. (Assuming you are on one of the roads in Texas that has a speed limit of 80-85, and if its a back road, I doubt thats the case.)

While I agree that the 104 limiter is a little disappointing, calling it dangerous is a bit extreme.

Also don't forget, passing two vehicles in one try is also illegal.

Depending on the situation, I won't harp on that bit as much. Many folks won't leave you enough room to legally pass one at a time. And I hope folks don't take what I'm saying too literally; to pass someone quickly/efficiently/safely, you exceed the speed limit sometimes (maybe frequently), OK. I just find it ironic that someone willing to do more than 25 MPH over the speed limit is complaining about something else making their pass too dangerous.

Yeah, I agree with that. Not often do I pass someone without speeding.

I guess it depends on the situation and your location, road conditions, etc. I'm typically driving on Socal busy freeways, when not in gridlock traffic the speeds are pretty high, the average speed on the fast lane is 80-85 mph (65mph posted limit), I've personally cruised at 90 mph before, but anything above that feels uncomfortable for me, but that's due to my trucks off-road oriented tires. On street tires, maybe I wouldn't feel that way, but it just feels wrong with a large heavy truck to be going so fast for the safety of everyone around me.

I'm currently in the Philippines, the expressways here are usually two lane in one direction and limited to 100 kph (62 mph), people tend to go 70-75 mph, the roads aren't always smooth which tends to keep you from wanting to go too fast, along with speed cameras near the toll road booths which are everywhere.
