Price negotiated from MSRP

Is it a sign of the times or sign of the business? I had similar experience.
Not sure. I've been taking my daughter around looking at cars. She's graduated from college and is working in her field earning a very good income. The only dealership that made her feel welcome and important was the BMW store. The salesman there and the product specialist went above and beyond to treat her like the customer and mostly ignore me...which is what I wanted for her. They were also the only dealership to follow up after our initial visit. That turned into 2 subsequent visits and she is likely going to lease a new X1 this week. It's not a crazy expensive car, but they treated her like she was looking at a M8 Competition (which I've sat in every time we visit the dealer...heehehe)

Sales people and especially service and support people (are you listening @RamCares?) need to understand how critically important their role is in this...presale and post. I don't think they truly grasp that concept.

I dont know if its true for BMW , but Lexus dealerships (or the ones I went to a few years ago) have staff on Salary. From my recent Porsche interactions, they charge you for every single tiny bit of feature in their cars, but accordingly they give you VIP treatment, much better than BMW, Benz or Lexus dealerships.

Now, US Domestic brands are not too far off from asking price/premium compared to Luxury brands - the service however has stayed subpar. I just had a very similar experience, of all the RAM dealers I went to, about 3-4 in person and about 6-7 online, only 2 of them were actively wanting to discuss the business and provide numbers.

Now as to my post above, of the two dealers, I am still wondering if I paid the premium for being in Northeast or is that a fair price.

I can't say my Ram dealer made me feel all warm and fuzzy when I first walked in but they were cordial and when they sensed I was interested in buying the tenor was professional and cooperative. They found the truck I wanted 300 miles away and after some negotiations on price and trade in met my price range and went and got it. They knew the in's and out's of the deal including paying off all but the last five payments of the loan to save interest charges and get me the $500 rebate.

We drove the truck (salesman and I) for 20 miles or so and I was happy. A couple days later I noticed an air leak in the moonroof and rear window that was sticky. They scheduled me immediately in for repairs and kept the truck over night for parts to arrive and repair it. They opened two star cases to facilitate the repair and repaired it. The service adviser forgot to call me to say they were keeping it overnight until late in the evening and apologized several times. Also gave me a certificate for a free oil change when I want to use it.

Took the truck in last thursday for it's first oil change, one that was part of the two free ones from the initial purchase, I asked if it covered full synthetic oil and the answer was because you asked, yes.

I can't say they make me feel like a king but they are professional and act like I bought a car from them and that's all I think you can expect in this day and age. They aren't perfect but they are professional.

Its not often that I walk away from a car purchase thinking I got a great deal until now. Although I usually just purchase, I heard from 3 different friends about getting unreal deals by doing a lease purchase because somehow you qualify for more rebates. My credit union confirmed it was true. Started shopping for a V6 limited because of the positive reviews of the Pentestar motor on 5thgenrams. Between the model year end and employee pricing this is what I got:
2019 Ram Limited 1500, 4x4, V6 gas, level 1 package, limited slip differential, 22' tire/rim package, soft tonneau, mud flaps, bed rails, Delmonico red.
MSRP $64,315, selling price of $45,697 before my trade. Added up to about 29% off of MSRP. I couldn't be happier!

Compared to my 2017 Silverado, the Ram rides like a dream and seems like a decade ahead of the Chevy in every category of form fit and function. The V6 has a lot of giddy up in case you were wondering and the Level 1 package with the Harmon Kardon 900W stereo is absolutely exceptional! Its like a concert hall on wheels and that's not too far from the truth.
I thought Limited's didn't have V6 engines as an option. I don't mean to question you, but are you sure it was a Limited?
I was looking for that option myself (prefer fuel efficiency over towing/power).

If you don’t tow anything get the v6. I got the v8 rebel with etorque last week Thursday, I drove 300 miles on it average 11.5 mpg real world dash board showing 12.7 mpg.

So whats the final word on FCA honoring employee pricing on factory orders delivered next year? The first quote I've received isn't reflecting the discount. Still waiting on a couple more. I've read conflicting info here regarding this. Hoping to order a Rebel this week. Cannot find one anywhere with air suspension, rambox and multifunction tailgate in granite.

I would be interested to hear if anyone has had luck or information FCA honoring Employee Pricing.

They told me no, whatever the incentives are at the time of delivery. This was awhile back, but I’ve been told that many times so I’m going to assume nothing has changed. They being ram customer service. I’ve never ordered a ram truck though so can’t say for sure I guess.

Ford let’s you pick, which is kind of interesting, as they seem to be the only ones who do that. GM forces you to take the delivery set as well. Or so they did a in 2011.

They did in 2019, I saw one on the lot. The salesman just shrugged and said he thought it was an unwise move to have brought that truck in but you know what, it was gone less than 2 months later (back in April).

Power (hp/torque) is all relative as my 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT has 230 hp. I considered the V6 but shied away because of the "lack of history/newness" of the etorque and limited warranty as I am a long term owner (still have the 2001). I also looked at Fords and the salesman told me to stick with their V8 for longevity reasons.

I'm trying to get the most I can without being a greedy pig.
Does anyone know if I can use my brother's truck (F150) to get the $1,000 Truck owner conquest cash (38ck5)?
He lives in the same household, but his registration shows his old address.

2020 limited ED , option package 1 ,ORG,3.92 , tri coat white no sun roof trailer brakes ordered 10/7 just unloaded at dealer yesterday
picking up Friday and i got employee discount plus ,500 cash , 500 0 percent 3 year loan.
ended up being 10 K less than MSRP.

Signed the papers and picking up tomorrow. Seems close to the same numbers folks have been achieving here.

Sorry my English is not good. I want to buy a 2019 RAM 3500 LARAMIE LONGHORN CREW CAB 4X4 6'4" BOX, and a fifth wheel.
I want to travel across the USA with it.

Now I read here that many get 18% or 25% to 30% discount. But only with the 1500 model. My wish vehicle costs
MSRP: 83'755.- (see link)

Now my question.

Is this discount also possible with RAM 3500 Diesel?
Is the big discount so high only at the end of the year?
When is a good time to buy? Spring, summer or autumn?
Which dealer is recommended and has a large selection?

1) The Ram incentives vary by vehicle & by trim. The Ram 3500 Diesel incentives are often less aggressive and seem to be less frequently available... though that is just a feeling as I don't track it.

2 & 3) Every year is different, but June & December have been the best times to purchase in recent years. Particularly when buying 1500's. Not sure about the Heavy Duty 2500/3500 options.

4) What city/airport are you beginning your trip? That may be a good place to start. The big east coast airports for European non stop flights are JFK, EWR, IAD, ATL. There are high volume Ram dealers near each of those airports. Perhaps begin with them.

Also, you may want to check out the HDRams.com sister site to the is website, as their forums specifically focus on the 2500 & 3500 models.

Just a thought, how long do you plan to travel or are you planning residence here. If you are buying to just travel and resell you might consider renting a motor home for the travel. If you sell within a few months of purchase there will be a very significant loss of value in both units. You might be able to rent a motor home for less than that amount.
BIAC, welcome and good travels. You homeland is beautiful but we have a variety of places to visit that are probably unmatched anywhere else. Don't keep Canada out of your plans either when you are planning your trip.
