Price negotiated from MSRP

When you say before you drive off the lot, are you meaning actually drive off, or when you show up to sign papers and get it. Already ordered a truck. Have not signed all papers yet or driven off, so I am wondering if I still have any leverage when I go to get it or now? If so how do you approach it? Not expecting to, but one never knows. Others from this group have often enlightened us all with info we would not have thought. Can't hurt to ask for suggestions or experiences.

Until you sign all of the papers and drive the truck off the lot, you still have a TON of leverage. Just because a deal was negotiated does not mean it's final. Do you really think they'll let you walk over a few hundred dollars or a free accessory or two when you are there and ready to spend your money? I do it all the time and you would be surprised what you can get if you just try! Feel free to PM me and I am happy to share my thoughts via a cell conversation:)

I need you to come and negotiate for me the next time. I suck at car negotiations. They just sit there and stare at me and I cave... :(

But seriously seeing some of the deals here I honestly think there’s a market for “professional car negotiator”. I’d have paid someone $500 to get me a deal like some of the ones I’m seeing on here.
 
Funny you say that @CompuDav ...I have actually helped hundreds of people buy cars over the years. I enjoy the negotiation and the sales "game". I actually lead a global sales organization and have for over 20 years so I know how to play the game well. I have also helped forum members on various forums I am a member of negotiate as well all with a simple phone call. Happy to help anyone in the future that is looking for advice and tactics to use when dealing with these slime balls:)
 
How did you get them to throw in the tanks of gas end detailing and oil? Did you do that before you finalize the deal or were you able to negotiate that after when you went in to pick it up and sign? Would love to get my dealer to throw some perks in like that just not sure how to bring it up once the truck is already in there waiting for you to sign it they obviously know you're locked in to buying it

Of these listed final items the only one negotiated in advance was the Extender Pins. The hard copy manual, fuel, and detailed cleanings are just what they apparently do for all new vehicle sales. This dealership also provided the lifetime drivetrain warrantee and first oil change free. These folks are top notch. BTW, I had no prior affiliation with this dealership.
 
I finally had a good enough deal to purchase today. I spent weeks trying to get a decent deal anywhere within 5 hours of me on a Laramie sport 4x4. Finally got someone to drop the price from 59,666.00 to 47500.00 . I really though based on what others were saying i was going to get a better deal and not have to take a trip to get there! These North East Fl dealers were stengy . But my wife got the exact truck she wanted ! Glad its over so many calls, emails, texts, dealer visits and research. Its tiring.
What dealer did you choose in FL?
 
Looking at a loaded Laramie down here in South Florida. MSRP is $64,500. Current dealer offer is $52,850. I received that offer over the phone after walking out of my 3rd in person haggle session with them. We are at about 18% off MSRP. They are offering me $17,500 me for my trade-in vs. $16,500 offer from Carmax.

I was considering the deal, but noticed that the dealer OTD number did not match my calculated OTD. They are including registration fees, a $900 dealer fee and probably some other ******** fees. They also said I could not get 36 months at 0% and the $2,500 cash rebate. Sounds like BS. They want me to finance at 3.9%. I have perfect credit. No thanks. Worst case I can get 2.25% at a credit union.

As for the registration, I should be able to just pull the tag from my trade-in vehicle and transfer the tag myself? Why would I pay $450 or more in fees when I already have a tag? Am I missing something?

you cannot get around the dealer doc fees and they are what they are. Do they know you have a tag to transfer? Many automatically assume worst case for pricing purposes but will adjust once they have the details.

OK thanks. If we are talking a couple hundred for document fees, that is fine with me. The $900 for profit only fee is not.
 
my dealer gave me an out the door pricing and then when I looked at the purchase agreement he included in another 299 dealer fee. I questioned him and he said it was a built-in fee I then said no it's not everything is negotiable without hesitation he dropped the entire thing so no dealer fees are bogus.
 
My truck is on the train from Michican to Fort Worth as we speak, i was trying to hammer out my rebates with my dealer and they told me that the $1000 penfed certificate does not stack with the $500 Chrysler bonus cash i received via email (when i requested a truck brochure).

is there anyone that was able to stack these 2? or the Chrysler bonus cash + USAA or truck conquest? Wasn't expecting these 2 not stacking, messing up my budget. lol
scroll up to my February 24th post those were the incentives I was able to get when they first made my order and just last week my dealer was able to add on the USAA rebate as well. So I was able to get them all together

They are $899 up here in JAX. Pure profit for dealers to make up for what they’re losing on their cars! The law allows them to do it. Sometimes you can negotiate them but most of the time you cannot.
 
Need something cleared up. If i buy a 2019 all new Laramie I can get a $2,500 factory rebate. What are the rules with that rebate? Seems like FCA leaves it up to the dealer. Do I have to finance with FCA? If I get the 0% for 36 months do I lose the $2500? If I pay cash do I lose the $2500. Has anyone stacked the financing and rebate incentive?

Also, they mentioned financing at 3.9%. I can get 2.25% at First Florida credit union. I may be able to refinance after buying with FCA with a similar rate.

I am about ready to move on a truck and was hoping some of you could confirm the deal I have negotiated is a decent one. I want a very specific combination so it has to be orderd as I cannot find an exact match within any reasonable distance.

1500 Laramie crew cab with MSRP of $54,095.

Dealer is offering to place order for a post rebate price of $46,699.

I look forward to your input.

If this better belongs elsewhere, I apologize however as it was a negotiated price I felt it might fit the thread.

Has much to do with where you are located and time of the year/month. Always being told that end of the month is best to deal I found that dealers have $250 coupons from FCA at the beginning of the month and can stack 3 on a deal $750. Also ask if they throw a bed liner (linex) into the deal on a non factory sprayed truck. Mine dealer did as I noticed a sign on the wall of the dealer pit and since mine was factory sprayed I asked for that $500 as well (why shouldn't I get it if they are giving them away). I did not take the $500 rebate for financing through the dealer but by the time I was done I had $11,500 off MSRP and would have been $1000 more had I not had to pay to ship the truck in from another dealer.

I also spent nearly 3 weeks and 10 trips to the dealer before I had the deal I wanted. Here in very south very east iowa.

Looking at loaded Laramie down here in South FL. As far as I know I don't qualify for any rebates other than the standard $2,500. University Dodge total discount , including the $2500 factory rebate, was at about 16.3%. Pretty crappy, based on posts I have read on this forum. I do realize that some qualify for more rebates than others and that can make a big difference in the % discount. I just want to make sure this is the best I can do. I don't think it is.

I can't stand car dealerships and the shell game. I have two trade-in vehicles and they low balled me on both until I showed them the Car Max offers. My trade-in prices magically increased by $4500. I automatically no longer trust anything that comes out of someones mouth when that happens.

The search for a good to great deal continues. I'm going to reach out to Arrigo, Miami Lakes Automall and other next to see if they can do better.

I found that University Dodge is full of shady people who don’t know anything about the vehicles. Arrigo is ok but they don’t make skinny deals. I actually brought them my deal and put it up against a Rebel they had and told them if the deals were similar discounts (not total price because I know the incentives are different etc) I would choose. They said they wouldn’t ever make a deal like what Miami Lakes Automall would and called me a liar.
