Maybe we can do some forensics here. Hey @Jared B who are the experts who might narrow down what things happen at “MOPAR CUSTOM SHOP OPERATIONS BODY_VEND” and why some Rambox trucks ( @cjgerson @Ramman @Kramersp ) can’t get through, but other trucks ( @cjbrown24 @Aries Ram ) have?

At this point it’s like a roach motel. :alien: that’s a roach. Off topic but can we get a beers cheers emoji? It’s my favorite.

I'll see if I can find out the specifics of what gets done at the body vendor. Right now i know it's some Limited bodyside mouldings, spray in liners, power running boards I've been told but I'll see what else.

As far as the emojis I'll look into it and see about adding more.

@Kramersp says the Ramboxes are completed on the line, might anyone know whether there are finishing items that perhaps occur elsewhere? Comparing the builds it still seems Rambox is the common factor... just wondering what happens at that stop that would have them stuck in the mud...

Mine is also one of those trucks I feel just started moving fast. Took 3 weeks to get into D1 and other 3 to build then 1 day at the Custom shop and now it's in KZ and it looks like its ready to ship. I live in Michigan, 2 hours from the plant so I'm really hoping to get it within a week.

Hay man I’m glad you piped up @sghuntoon I was wondering about your order options especially since you survived whatever gauntlet exists in “MOPAR CUSTOM SHOP OPERATIONS BODY_VEND” :alien:. I see in your sig block no etorque no ramboxes, so you should be set! They’ve put the freeze on our Rambox trucks so y’all have been the priority and will get your trucks on what you might consider a normal timeline... which is exceptional for a new model year!

Yours went into D1 over 2 weeks faster that mine did, so thats good for your overall time frame. I'll be close to 8 weeks by the time I get mine so even in you get stuck in inspection or Mopar Body Vendor vortex for awhile it looks like you're still on pace with me.

Feeling very fortunate my build has moved so quickly. Dealer is showing expected delivery 7/27. Probably won't be able to get out there til mid August though :cautious:

Here's my build if y'all were wondering.

Limited 4x4 Ivory, eTorque, no Rambox, no offroad package, 22 inch wheels, sun roof, trailer brake only, body matched bumpers, anti slip diff, level 1 equipment group, 3.92 gear, spray in liner, and 33 gallon tank.

From my salesman 10 minutes ago...

Truck was built and out of Sterling Heights Assembly Plant on 13th ..then shipped over to MOPAR Custom Shop yesterday, the 16th .. was shipped to Detroit Mound Road Yard awaiting rail transport.

NO ETA given BUT Detroit Ramp to be loaded it shows as 08/10

So .. quite a delay awaiting to be loaded on railcar. Its seems this railcar issue is an ongoing issue for us

Could it be that transport and logistical issues are to blame for delays as well?

I always heard FCA does not have enough railcars to ship their trucks. I believe the railcar is part of the hold up. Obviously its not FCA'a railcar its prolly not enough contracted rail car companies etc.

Studying the MOTS data, it appears that transport is taking 2-3 weeks longer than expected. 5 years ago, I tracked my Jeep and transport was rapid in comparison.

That is what I noticed last night, some trucks are taking 3 weeks to get to dealership once they have left the plant.

I wanted to give you all a review after driving my truck for a few days. I have not ran into any of the issues others mentioned. Either Ram fixed the issues, they are intermittent and have not shown up yet, not all trucks have the issues, user error or I am not as picky. I do notice the lighting fades around the gauges but it does not bother me and is the same for both sides. This truck is amazing to drive and the technology is impressive. Love the cooling seats in AZ and the AC works fine. Unless you live in Yuma AZ, I think I would know as it is over 110 too often here. This message is for all the people that get worried about the one off issues that are discovered by others.

5 years ago the Railroads were looking for a stuff to haul. Now they don't have enough locomotives, are running an aging car fleet, and can't hire enough people to run the trains. And local governments are cracking down on the railroads for various reasons.

Also right now railroads are investor focused thanks to a well known industry guy who has since passed away.

Hopefully the railroads get back to being customer focused soon, so it will help me purchase my truck and get it in a timely manner.

We had discussed this in prior talks. The railroad doesn't ship one truck it ships anywhere from 800 to 2400 at a time and they aren't in the business of moving empty cars.

I ordered my quad cab Lone Star on May 31. As of July 2 it was built and "approved for shipping". Ever since then the status has not changed, and the reps just keep telling me to check back in a few days, that trucks are often batched for group shipments to dealers - I was told that just yesterday. This afternoon my salesman called and said my truck just arrived - I'm picking it up tomorrow! A little over 6 weeks, pretty darn fast.

It finally arrived! Picked it up late last night. Only got to drive it about 20 miles so far but first impressions are great. Amazingly smooth and quiet. Here is the tracking information for those that want something to compare time frames to. I seemed to take a bit longer in a few stages ("I" status for 9 days, and storage before finally getting on a train for quite a while). I think mine just missed a train to the west so had to wait for the next full load I suspect.
