This thread about dash lights, but what about door lights? Anybody added it with cheap aftermarket LED’s?

I'm curios too. Bet you could tap the wire for the switch lights if the ambient harnesses aren't there.

More info on this idea... Seems the door switch lights don't dim with either knob. So keep that in mind.

I spoke with PARAGOPTICS and he told me for 2021 and 2022 Ram removed the ambient light from the middle pocket of the door!!!! I just noticed. I had my friends 2019 Laramie and I just had a 2021 Ram Limited for a few weeks and noticed Ram removed the ambient light on the middle pocket of the doors. Unbelievable I have no reason why they did that! The middle pocket light actually brightened up the cabin.

I have a 2019 bighorn. I tore my dash apart and can’t find the wires. Can someone tell me what this wire connector is for it was behind the light switch.

So I got the dash light pieces today and installed them. I've included pics of the dash before and after. the part numbers I used were two of the 68312667AC and one 68291948AC. Came in at just under $60 after tax. I would obviously look for the harnesses before buying the parts. Mine were hidden taped up inside around the main harnesses. :) Hope this helps and good luck!!
NIck, how do you install the glove box "tube" light? Do I need to remove the upper glove box? I read that it gets secured with a 5.5 MM screw, I don't see any screws in the vicinity of the mounting location.

Hey guys, I have 2021 ram Laramie. I saw the post that SOWARDCUSTOMS posted. I popped out the drivers side AC duct to look for the connector. There is a fat wire harness next to the duct. I felt a bump in the harness and removed the cloth tape. There I found the connector. I removed the radio console and found the other 2 connectors. one by the start/stop button and one by the upper glove box. The parts you need are two 68312667-AC for both sides of the steering wheel (same light) and one 68291948-AC for the glove box. They are all plug and play. I spent around $60 on the parts. The glove box light comes with a long clear tube to carry the light across the top of the upper glove box. The bad part is you have to remove the upper and lower glove box to install this tube. Not hard at all. took me about 1.5 hours because I had to figure out how to get the glove box out . I could do it in about 40 mins now (not counting bandaid and smoke breaks) that I know how to get the glove box out. Here is a link to a guy who changed his leds to blue. Just fast forward till you get to the dash part. I think they look cool and i'm going to change mine as soon as they become available again.
This second link is for the PARAGOPTICS instructions. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1r96cHf7pv-VYaoIGrUSWuMTmiUlJbRrP/view Between the two links you should get a pretty good idea of how to do it yourself. Hopes this helps.
Do you have a “how to” on removing the glove boxes?

My 2021 has both foam inserts. Maybe because it's a Limited or maybe some other reason. Ram has been inconsistent with the foam inserts on 5th gens. There have been a few threads discussing this.
Just got my 22 Laramie GT and passenger foam insert is not there, neither was the sticker on back window indicating Ram Air Suspension, but dealer ordered it for me at no cost. Guess I’ll ask them about the insert because it’s on the sticker.

You don't have to remove the glovebox. it will slide in. It is a PIA to get though. It will take a few times to get the angle just right so it won't pop out on you while you're putting it in. Once it's in it won't pop out on you though. :)

I added the ambient lighting to my truck and cannot get the glove box to light evenly. Tried rotating the tube and even covering the end of it. There’s a bright spot on the far right. Does anyone have a pic of a factory equipped one lit up?

I assume there is a channel it slides in? And the light gets bolted in? Or does in snap in?

I haven't done this mod, but it looks like the light isn't fully seated towards the end causing more light to show. Does it just pop in place?

It is seated into the clips/channel. It’s almost like the dash isn’t straight and has a slight curve.

how hard is it to replace the door lights above the inside door handles? I saw some kit online (can't recall where) that had plug/play kit. Big money though

If you keep your gauge lights to full bright. The accent lighting doesn’t turn on.

You would notice if it was on

Yep which is why I probably never noticed it, I have to try the ambient lighting in a few days when I make my way over to TX which I typically dim everything when I do those long drives.
