Are you thinking you'd like your dealer to take a deeper look? As I've mentioned to other members on the forum, send me a direct message if you need any assistance setting up the servicing process.

I have a 2019 RAM 1500 Big Horn 5.7 Liter Hemi (3k mileage) and I too am experiencing the same humming/vibrating noise as some of the other folks are experiencing in this thread. I notice the humming when I have more than 2 people in the car, I notice the noise in all driving instances (i.e. when I am accelerating, when I break, when I am coasting with out touching the gas or break). I agree with some of the other posts that it seems like the truck is not shifting properly or there is a problem with the transmission. Has anyone found a resolution to this problem?

Along with this humming noise, does anyone else have issues when backing out of your driveway when you first drive the car for the day, with your rear axle squeaking (it sounds like an old truck with some rust on it backing out)?

Anyhow this truck is a brand new truck the humming noise has been happening since I bought it, I was just recently on a trip and the noise was unbearable and concerned my friends in truck. Hopefully a solution exists. I am taking it to the dealership on Friday, I would like to provide some thought to them, if they have not experienced this issue with anyone else yet.

We're very sorry to hear that this concern has not been resolved yet, lemon aid. Unfortunately, the dealer is unable to diagnose this concern if it cannot be duplicated. If you plan to continue pursuing this with your dealer, you may also send us a private message and we would be happy to assist you while your truck is at the dealer.

I have also had this same issue and have even taken it to the dealer. The dealer stated they don't have a fix for this issue yet, so basically deal with it. I, too, have had my brand new Ram 1500 BigHorn into the shop 7 times now for various things and am getting tired of dealing with it. I have 8,000 miles on mine and purchased it August 2008.

Has anyone found a resolution to this issue? I just purchased a brand new ram 1500 sport and am experiencing the same issues mentioned above. Intermittent humming from engine at variable speeds as well as shifting and acceleration seems to be off at low speeds. Feels like acceleration engages later than it should and doesn’t sit in the proper gear. Humming comes and goes and cannot re create. FCA has been of no help, they say speak my dealer, dealer says to speak to FCA. I have now had my truck back in the shop twice with under 1000km and they are now asking for it again so they can try diagnose. Each time they say they found something and it’s fixed and give it back. Then the noise comes back! Please advise if anyone has found a solution or has a case number to reference I can give to my dealer. Thanks

If you'd want to at least isolate it to the ANC system, just unplug the harness under the drivers seat that attaches to silver box. You can access it from the back.

It'll shut off the ANC (and speakers). If you no longer hear the nose, you know it's the ANC system.

Personally I disconnected (depinned) the #3 mic and my problems went away. Can't tell any difference in cab noise.

Hello, I purchased my beautiful black Ram Bighorn in May 2018 and to date have logged 5500 frustrating miles on it. It seems this truck is plagued with the familiar loud intermittent humming noise. One never can tell when it will rear it's ugly head. So far it has been in the shop 4 times and the service dept. has not yet been able to diagnose the problem. fortunately for me they have heard the awful annoying noise so they know that I am not crazy. Company created a case but after two weeks and no problems they dropped it. yesterday the noise and vibration returned. So far dealership has replaced the cats and upgraded the transmission computer. neither have helped resolve the issue. Same old if it's not doing it when you come in we can't find the problem. Definitely having buyer remorse.
I bought a 2019 bighorn and yesterday was the second time it did that. It sounds like it a known problem. The deal is looking in on it. So they say. Hope they figure it out. I do think it's in transmission but when it doesn't do it all the time it's hard for them to figure it out. Once I shut the truck off the noise is gone tell next time

Update on my issues. I have what I can assume are two issues that must be related. Current mileage is 4800 and it's a Big Horn 5.7 eTorque truck.

Issue #1 at any speed in any gear at around 1500 RPM there is a noticeable drone and vibration. This issue is not intermittent but it does vary in intensity. This issue does not occur when in neutral only when in drive.

Issue #2 a much larger vibration where the entire truck will vibrate. This issue has only occurred 4 times. First time was at around 600 miles (previous post). The issue will occur at any RPM between 1000 and 2000 and at any speed but is most prominent at lower speeds (under 60 MPH). This issue will occur both in neutral and when in motion. The issue will stop immediately if the truck is fully turned off and back on. It will not stop of the auto start stop feature kicks in.

Today I had the 4th occurrence of Issue #2 and called my dealer and told them I am coming in immediately to show them. I kept the truck running and it was still doing the issue when I arrived at the dealership. I specifically told the deal do not shut the truck off as it will no longer happen. I explained the issue and they said they would take it to be diagnosed. After an hour and a half they came back and told me it was due to the MDS. I immediately stated it was most certainly not related to the MDS I am fully aware of when the MDS kicks in and the varied RPM and speeds the issue occurs at rules the MDS out.

I then talked to the Service Manager and took him for a ride. Of course by that time they had turned the truck off so it was no longer doing issue number 2. I showed him issue #1 which he acknowledged and said he would look into. He said it's hard to tell what could be causing that and it sounded like some sort of harmonic issue, but with what he could not determine. However since I could not recreate Issue #2 I am back to the drawing board.

I will now have to wait until Issue #2 occurs for the 5th time and hope I have time to bring it to the dealership again. This time I will take the service manager for a ride and show him the issue.

they do have a fix they there is a TSB for it, it has been out for a while and it is the solution to the problem. it has been documented on here before I have told different people in this thread already and it works every time, there is exceptions but it is the dealer that they lie about updating the ANC but they don't do it. They LIE! so friends from RAM! do this TSB and IT WILL GO AWAY trust me!

2019 4x4 with about 3300, got this for the first time today. Started it and then loud noise, not in gear. It almost sounded like the base in the audio system, was very loud. Drove about a mile and it stopped. Ran around in it most of the morning stopping and restarting it. Noise Didn't return

I have hearing aids and every time I drive my truck it turns them OFF. If I get out of the truck and reboot hearing aids they work fine....Could it be the ANC turning off my hearing aids? Dealer thinks i'm nuts!VA told me my hearing aids has nothing to do with electronics in vehicles. Is it possible I could turn off the ANC to see if that solves my issue? How would one go about turning off the ANC?

Listen, unfortunately Ram doesnt give hoot. If they did they would be working on it because this is a huge issue, they wont open a case to recall. To fix/stop the humming, use the tow/haul button to stop the humming. In town I keep it in tow/haul mode. Once I get over 70 mph I take it out of tow/haul. Problem solved. Ram, at least we provided you with a clue. Now get it fixed permanently.

Read my comment further down.
Tow/haul activated will fix the problem and stop the humming. Once over 70 mph take it out of tow/haul.
That's the clue for the Ram mechanics to fix the problem.

Run the truck in tow/haul mode, it'll stop immediately.

I m gonna try the tow/haul button until I hit 70 mph and will post my results. It sounds like its the ANC and that it needs to be flashed.

You are not crazy @Tac747 ! Rolling down the windows deactivates the cabin noise cancelling system... this is exactly how the techs confirm whether the noise is coming from the ANC or something else.

Sounds like your Active Noise Cancellation system is malfunctioning, and generating noise when it is supposed to be cancelling it. Many of us have the same problem, numerous threads on it. Ram is still working on a fix, but they can safely deactivate it for you while you wait for the permanent fix.

A service bulletin just dropped and I’m getting it done Wednesday. Let’s hope it works.
Thank you for posting the solution, and sharing your knowledge.

I bought my 2019 1500 Christmas Eve 2018. I had this issue twice in the first month. I pulled over both times and restarted. Seemed to take care of it. Then...I start putting loads in the bed and right around 1400 RPM, didn’t matter what speed, the noise was overwhelming. Almost cancelled a couple camping trips because I didn’t think I was going to make the 150+ mile trip. I asked the dealer about it on the first recall. They had no idea. I’m scheduling another dealer appointment for the ORC recall and will ask again. They won’t find anything though. I’m going to have to load my truck and see if comes back then run to the dealer to go for a road test. I might just disconnect the #3 mic as suggested and see how that goes. Good luck with your truck.
