I’m taking mine in later this week, maybe I can find out something new. If they can‘t resolve the issue I believe this would fall under our states lemon law. our lemon law requires the dealer to buy the vehicle back at purchase price less mileage.
Hi @Shinbone - Please be sure to keep us posted! If it would be of interest, I would be more than happy to escalate a case on your behalf for further support as you work with your dealer. Our team is just a private message away to get that process started.
Let me know how you make out!
Hi @adoto1123 - If at any point you do address this with your dealer, we are happy to provide you with additional support for that process.

My 2019 1500 just started making this noise tonight. I noticed it first when pulling out of a parking lot, then it continued for the 20 mile drive home. Happened at all speeds (0-65). It seemed to go away when I lowered either the driver window or passenger window about 30%. I’m thinking maybe ANC? I’ll see if it continues tomorrow and, if so, will visit the dealer.

I bought a 2020 RAM Limited and started to hear the white noise makers on the passenger side sound like high wind flow past a vent. I read the forums and spoke to a person that was knowledgeable about the design of the system. I determined that the wire may be too close to the door speaker or something being impacted by EMF under a certain set of circumstances. I checked the wire bundle to the drivers door and the passenger door for comparison and noticed that the passenger side was much much stiffer. I did what I call a wire wiggle on the passenger side, basically exercised the bundle going to the door to get it as loose as the drivers side. After I did this I never heard the sound again. A problem so annoying was fixed by exercising the wire bundle. Woohoo!
Mine was in the passenger back seat area, one time for about a hour, it’s never done it again.

Exact same rpm range we're experiencing the issue in. 1200 to 1500 rpm. Got the service tech to ride with me and he experienced it as well. Bad issue!
Has anyone figured this out? same problem on 2019 2WD, no eco 19K miles. Please help.

When I told an employee with the company about what I did to fix my issue, he mentioned that they were suppose to free the wire bundle at the factory and if they missed it, the dealership was suppose to catch it and free the wire bundle. In my case, neither the factory nor dealership freed the wire bundle as evidenced by it being very very stiff. When Engineering was informed of the wire wiggle fixing the issue, their reply was that it makes sense and that it should have been freed at the factory or dealership.
I hope others find this helpful. What do you have to lose in trying it out on your new truck before you get upset about having to take your new truck into the dealership. It doesn’t cost anything, takes only minutes to try, and will save you lots of waiting time and frustration if it works. I am sure glad that it worked for me.
Just a follow up, I still do not have the loud sound in the cab. Has anyone else tried it out on their truck? What were your results? Just curious.

There is a group of wires forming a cable run going to the door. This would provide power to all your door electronics. You can see it when the door is open. My thought was that the cable run was not flexing appropriately and if the cable was too close to the speaker in certain circumstances, an electromagnetic field would be created causing a feedback disturbance in the noise reduction system. To check the theory, I compared the cable run stiffness of the driver’s door and the passenger door. For me, the driver’s door cable run could be moved easily but the passenger door’s cable run was very stiff. I moved or wiggled the passenger door’s cable run until it had a similar feel to the driver’s. For me, my problem was with the noise reduction speakers on the passenger side. After I wiggled the cable run, I never had the problem again. I have provided this feedback to RAM. Hope this works for you. I am interested in hearing if it does.

We're sorry to hear that you have experienced this as well. If you are still experiencing this, please send us a private message so we can have this documented and looked into further!

Hi Ronno1966,
Congrats on your new truck! I understand how concerning this may be. At this time, we are urging anyone who has this concern to schedule an appointment with their dealer. You may also send us a private message so we can gather some additional information from you to have this documented.

Thank you,

I agree, read somewhere to remove fuse to the anc or unplug it and bypass it. The harnesses are sold online somewhere. Seems to be a common issue that someone came up with a fix for but its aftermarket. Wish ram would get it together and just put it back to how the 2018 and older models were, never heard it kn the older ram 1500s.

I am also having the same issue with my 2019 Bighorn. The issue started right away and I’ve had it to two different dealerships, one of which the service manager rode with me while the sound and vibration was active. He then took his lead mechanic for a ride. They stopped the truck, turned the engine off then restarted it. The issue went away. He said he has no idea what it is and sent me on my way with nothing more. The truck still makes a humming noise about every ten seconds that will gradually appear then drop right off. It’s even more prevalent when passengers are in the back seat. On a side note, I also have issues with the radio volume increasing then decreasing by itself. Some local stations won’t even come in. When I use Pandora from my phone, I have no issues with the volume.

Ive had the same issue twice, both times took it to the dealership. They think it was a bug in the ANC system and this last time, which was only a few weeks ago, they said there was a specific update meant to fix it. In mine, the problem seemed to be that the frequencies were off with the ANC so that is what was creating the humming noise.

It seems that the cause for the drone noise has been all over the board after reading this board and others. Some say it happens at a certain speeds, certain rpms, weight in the backseat, air/ heat running, or even the radio playing. Probably missed some others but I think you get the point. One thing that all these have in common the ANC amplifier which is mounted under the driver’s seat to the floorboard. I think the system works as it is designed to work; however, for some reason minor electronic noise issues is causing drone noise. I believe that the amplifier is not mounted to provide vibration insulation. My thought is that when these electronic noise issues occur with vibration on the amplifier, then the electronic noise gets amplified causing the drone noise. Under normal circumstances these electronic noise issues shouldn’t even be noticed. It also explains why many people don’t have this issue. Their amplifier may have been mounted or even bolts torqued slightly different changing the vibration levels felt on their amplifier. I provided feedback to an individual working at Chrysler HQ about my thoughts and recommended adding/ changing rubber between the amplifier and mounting bracket and rubber washers on the mounting bolts between the mounting bracket and floorboard. No idea if the people that need to know get the information to evaluate its possibility or not. My fingers are crossed.

Is anyone else still having these issues and nothing is being done by the dealer to resolve these issues. In a year the truck has been back to the shop over a handful of times and they have no solution or plan of action to fix it.

Very frustrated and unhappy with the purchase of this truck. Seems to have been nothing but issues since the day we drove it off the lot. This plus the malfunctioning tailgate that they also 'cannot' fix as it does not happen when in the shop - but we've sent them multiple videos of it not working properly.

Hello, I purchased my beautiful black Ram Bighorn in May 2018 and to date have logged 5500 frustrating miles on it. It seems this truck is plagued with the familiar loud intermittent humming noise. One never can tell when it will rear it's ugly head. So far it has been in the shop 4 times and the service dept. has not yet been able to diagnose the problem. fortunately for me they have heard the awful annoying noise so they know that I am not crazy. Company created a case but after two weeks and no problems they dropped it. yesterday the noise and vibration returned. So far dealership has replaced the cats and upgraded the transmission computer. neither have helped resolve the issue. Same old if it's not doing it when you come in we can't find the problem. Definitely having buyer remorse.
Did you ever find the issue? did you ever figure this out, please let me know. [email protected]. my 2019 does the same crap.

I purchased a 2019 Ram 1500 Big Horn 4x4 one day ago with "11" miles on it. I noticed today when I got on a paved street (not covered in snow) at about 35 mph the truck started humming really loud like it wasn't in the correct gear. When I got onto the highway it makes the same humming noise at 55 mph and above. I only have about 100 miles on it so far. The noise is so loud that I can feel the vibrations in my feet. Does anyone know what's up with this?
