HVAC Squeak after truck is shut down

I'm also experiencing this on my 2020 Rebel with 10k miles...

Sorry for the trouble, @F0URTEEN14. If you work with your dealer to address this, our team is just a private message away and more than willing to escalate a case on your behalf for further support.

Had to take my truck to the dealer twice for them to do anything and now the new part they want to install is on back order with NO ETA on when it will show up. I guess I just have to laugh at this point.

I am incredibly sorry to hear this update, @Chris_R. I did look into your case and I see that your specialist is in the process of following up with your dealer to try and get the part in as soon as possible. Please let me know if you do not receive a follow up on this.

First off, I just want to say that this forum has been super helpful and I've learned a lot from everyone's posts. I too have the same issue with the squealing noise when I turn my truck off (2019 Rebel). I've got an appointment first thing in the morning and at least I can tell the advisor what to look for based off of everyone's comments on here. I'll report back when I hear what they have to say.

Update - Dealer replaced Expansion valve per STAR engineering group. Did not resolve issue. Talking about replacing an evaporator next but they want to replace it on another truck and then mine if it fixes the issues. So I need to pick up my truck and then take it back to the dealer for a fourth time.

My new truck without license plates is back at the dealer for the third time today for this issue. Yep.. should have bought a different brand of truck.

Still waiting for anyone to be able to provide an update on what steps will be taken next to fix the truck. @RamCares said they are not able to provide an update. I called the dealer today and stopped by and talked to the service rep. Still waiting for someone to be able to provide an update. This experience is mind numbing.

Well... after 4 days of calling and stopping at the dealership I finally got an update. They are ordering an evaporator for my truck and going to replace that to see if it fixes the issue.

Just heard back from the dealer. Truck goes into the shop next Tuesday (9/1/2020) for the evaporator install. They said I may not get the truck back till Thursday.

Did the evaporator replacement fix the issue? I just had my AC expansion valve replaced and I’m still getting the whistle noise after I shut my truck off.

I got the truck back Friday. I have driven it around town a few times and no issues with the noise once the evaporator was replaced. I hope this is a permanent fix.

Side note- when I first got the truck back it only had hot and hotter air. No cold air. After 15 minutes of working on it it again at the dealership it had cold air.

2020 v6 etorque Mine does the weird squeaking /decompress squealing after the ac system is shut off. Every time any time. It has also already had the refrigerant issue fixed by the dealer a month after getting.

Following this thread. I’ve had the same issue. Glad to see the fix although I was hoping it would improve performance too. Seems this should be a non-safety recall. @RamCares

Update - the noise is back. @RamCares
Hi @Chris_R - I checked into your case and I was able to see that it has been re-opened and it is currently under further review by a new specialist. You should be receiving a follow up in 1-2 business days, please keep me posted!

Glad I found this thread, my 2020 Laramie has been doing this pretty much since I bought it in June. I haven’t taken it in yet but I will mention it when I do take it in for an oil change. However, I have zero faith they will fix it...Everybody at the dealership seems so miserable and uncaring....
