How to get radio update files

If you are ar KR28 you have pre-recall software. When it stops what error does it give? Each number corresponds to a different issue.

I think I have nr28 softare now and when I got the error code once it was error code 15. I tried to call uconnect but since my vin was originally with a 8.4 non nav and sales code didn't reflect the upgrade they wont give any advise. even if oem 12uax.

Get a new radio.

might have to get a new module or repaired but trying to do cheapest method first. Infotainment.com can doa module repair and update which might fix it but $600

I've got the files and had great success with updates. Shoot me a message and I'll share the file. Error 15 is a boot micro issue. Try my file if it doesnt work it's time to replace.

Followed the directions and failing on the first update (UAX KR20) with the error: "Cannot Update Software. Software not compatible with vehicle."

Not sure what I am doing wrong.

Well, if you are trying to install KR20, thats and older version and won't install. You need to go to a newer version that the 33.3 you currently have

updated to 40.1 from file on this forum. unzipped to usb and installed with no issues.
the only change i noticed is that i got a quarterly vehicle update from RAM the following day which i haven't received in a year. other changes may have happened but i don't pay a whole lot of attention to the screen

Thanks to whomever posted these. Updated from 29.34 with no issues. It is definitely way snappier and no glitches or freezes so far.

What are the actual differences between 39.9 and 40.1. From the page Update PR39 I can't really tell what is different between them. The pdfs listing the update fix list seem to be the same for both.

I figured it out... it is the first 2 items which are marked with ** double asterisks. SMH...

Any help would be appreciated. Ive tried this in every way I know how. Im using the LR34.2 update file I plug the usb in update screen comes up and starts the countdown it completes but never reboots completely to start the download the screen goes black then come back on to the media screen. I've tried 4 different flash drives no success. Thanks in advance for any help.

Your radio might not be able to update. Looking at the application version you posted, it doesn't really match up

Sorry I just looked at the application version and updated it to show the correct version. I really don't know where that came from unless it was some kind of auto correct by my computer.

When you extract the file to the thumb drive. Make sure the only file on the drive is the update file.

Unless Im doing something wrong I extract the file and only the VP4R file goes on the thumb drive. Will going from 20.16 to 34.2 work or do I need an earlier version to update to before going to 34.2? The only earlier version that I can find is posted by theramguy and his links are dead.

You may need to try and do nr28 first.
